There was a bright yellow Hummer H-2, easily recognizable as the post-lottery purchase of Hugo “Hurley” Reyes (Jorge Garcia). And beside it, the blue Chevy van spotted just yesterday as the wheelchair-ready ride of John Locke (Terry O’Quinn). Parked nearby, a large truck with the word “BOX” emblazoned on the door in red and white letters.

It was the parking lot of the Tustin-based box company that was acquired by Hurley and that employed Locke before the crash.

The scene:

Locke, in his wheelchair, comes rolling out of the building with a box of papers and office supplies on his lap. When he reaches his van, he sees the Hummer parked way too close, blocking his door and ramp. He starts to yell and gesture angrily, at one point throwing something. Then, Hurley — wearing jeans and a dress coat — arrives. Locke is still upset, but they talk. Then, Hurley pulls out a checkbook, writes out a check, and hands it to Locke.

Why was Locke taking a box out of the box company, and why did Hurley pay him? Spontaneous severance? In any case, finally in Season 6, it looks as if the amusing coincidence of Locke working for the same company that Hurley owns is taking on greater meaning.

These alternate reality scenes sound way to similar to all the stuff we've already seen in flashbacks/flashforwards and even on the island.

I think they might've planned ahead only a few answers (Adam and Eve - imo Jate, and what they would do with Locke in the end). Other than that, I think they are simply making it up as they go along (relying very much on the reactions of online fans, but that's also just my opinion).

I sadly stumbled on the Jacob spoiler by accident on another website and all I can say about this is "Has Lost become totally predictable or what?" I knew they were going to do this as soon as they cast a good-looking 30-something for the role way back in March. Ugh.

It was clear Ilana (and Caesar now replaced by Brahm) would be important to them because those casting calls came out very early last summer even tough they didn't appear straight away. Plus, they said the roles could be recurring even in season 6. They also had Jacob visit her in the finale and that had to mean something.

If I assume, based on Habib's description and name, that this will be Sayid's episode, it means they are not exactly following the centricity order from season 1.

And since there haven't been any casting calls for ep 5, whoever gets that episode will probably share most of his/her scenes with characters we already know.

Sawyer is drunk on or off the island?
If they get attacked by Others in ep 4, I doubt he would have had enough time to find alcohol and get drunk. So, I'll go with some mainland scenes. But I could be wrong.

I'm just glad he'll be in this episode because so far it sounded like it would have mostly Locke-related scenes. Actually, this one could be too, if Sawyer crosses path with John.

And Sun most likely wants to bury Locke's body in a proper way. They'll probably do it near Eko's church. (That means that both Locke and Jacob will get some sort of a funeral.)

Finally!

Another reason why I think it's on mainland is the expression this person used - "cross paths" - it somehow fits those random non-island connections. I wouldn't use it to say that he met/saw someone he already knows on the island.

It would be too random to have him see Juliet in a Locke-centric. The same goes for him maybe seeing Claire - I think that she'll reappear in Jack's or Claire's episode.

Sawyer meeting Locke is my best guess right now. John will also meet a few other characters we know - it could happen at the end of the ep when he's all depressed and down. I doubt Sawyer will be of any help, especially if he's drunk.

I'm gonna go with Clair, for now. That would burst his bustle if he saw her after her being missing for 3 years. Locke would be okay too, but I think Claire would be more of an impact, emotionally.
