It looks like we'll have to wait for season 4 finale to find out the answers to the questions that arose with the season 3 finale. It feels like the O6 plotline was introduced to fill in the gap between these two points.

In the meantime, all other characters have been totally ignored.

Sadly, yes. For a show that keeps telling us how powerful the island is, this season they haven't cared at lot about that set. it has been just an external force influencing the people on mainland.

I started suspecting the O6 would be a burden this season when we saw Ben had made it off the island, but I wasn't expecting to this extend.

I know. I remember the disappointment last year when I saw Jack and Kate at the airport.
The worst part IMO is having these two separated set. It kills the tension about whatever happens to the O6 in present time on the island, creates a huge unbalanced in the storylines of the members of that sub-plot and the other characters, and keep away a huge part of the mystical idea of the show. Because seeing the Island in action stopping Michael from killing himself is pretty meh compared to when you see those kind of events happening on the island, which is a sort of mini-universe on its own.

I couldn't have said it better. Especially the bolded part. That's exactly what's sucking the life out of this show. I'm not completely convinced that S5 is going to be mostly off island (that would completely kill the show), but if they continue this way... this show is doomed.

4x11 (Cabin Fever - Locke FB): April 2 - April 15
4x12 - 4x13 - 4x14 (There's No Place Like Home - ? )

The beginning date for shooting of one episode is usually 2 or 3 days before the ending date of the previous one. That would be April 12/13.

Ryan posted the spoilers about the funeral scene on April 15.
It should take more than the usual 2 weeks since it's basically 3 episodes.

In spite of what Darlton said, I hope there won't be a lot of triangle crap in the finale.

I agree. My only hope was that S5 focussed on the island, once the O6 were revealed and they have told us how they made it home and what was the cover-up they accepted to be a part of.
To have one season concentrated on a group, and the following one on the other group, is still stupid, but I could settle for it because S5 would be Sawyer heavy.

You know what pisses jme off more than the triangle? The fact that Sawyer has spent 3 episodes to reach Otherville, 6 episodes staying there to play board games, and the next 6 trekking back to the beach, where it all started. And that's everything that his character might have done this season.

One can only hope amazing things will happen to him during the walk back to the beach.

They said it themselves - they need characters in various geographical places and that's why Sawyer keeps going back and forth. Not because it makes sense for his characters but because that needs to be done in order to achieve the final goal - take Sawyer to place X.
