Since Sawyer got neglected big time on the show in season 4, this thread feels like a refuge. It's pretty sad actually.

I'm with you. Also, the more fanfic writers try to explain the whole "loving two men at the same time" thing, the less I understand it.
Thanks! I didn't know of that piece. The style is poetic but not cheesy, it was very nice to read. (I wish I still believed so strongly, like him, that she was always worth the chase)
It is. I didn't have great expectations for Skate after TTLG, but I had so many for Sawyer, the fact he's gone through 2/3 of a season without a storyline would've seemed impossible even to my most pessimistic self.

Wouldn't it great if the Lost writers paid the same attention to continuity of the fanfic authors? I'm serious here, lol.

That was beautiful. I've always seen Sun as stronger than Jin, I had never really contemplated him being unable to live without her - literally, though.
The way she chose to make Sawyer approach her was perfect, I can totally see doing that in such a situation.

One of my favorite authors writes a Sawyer/Sun fic just now. Am I lucky or what?

That was great! Loved it. Finally a fic from Sawyer's POV.
The ending surprised me, very nice way to respond to Sawyer's wish.
And I enjoyed the description of the people left on the island - especially the women (thought I could've done without the one night stand with Claire, lol), they were very well done, Sawyer has always been good to pick up details and the story uses that.
And props to the author for choosing Juliet as the first person he thought could be "revived" - I truly think they could be a cool team.

The whole thing made me a bit scared about James' future on the island, though.

I haven't rtead the Skate piece yet, because I'm not exactly in the mood for Kate's POV , but I'll check it later.

Maybe the "wonder twins - Dessy and Danny" image scared me a lil bit.

It's just that a peaceful scenario for the island doesn't sit well with me, maybe because in my mind I either wanted Sawyerr off that place or having to deal with huge problems... as in, a war-like situation, not other people's depression.

I blame the birth of this prejudice, too, on the board games.
I just read it (I haven't gotten it was a drabble ).
Why everything Skate has me either emo or angry these days? This one was painful. Why fanfiction!Kate is better than show!Kate?


Just saw this, I haven't read it yet, but I like the author and she used one of my favorite Sawyers' quote ever for the title) - plus S1 Skate is usually safe ground:

I sort of like Sawyer being the strongest one among those left behind, not like some alpha male, "power" figure, but on an emotional, psychological level. I don't want him to become their leader who acts out of some newly acuired sense of obligation and right or wrong. What I want is for him to continue to act on his impulses, good or bad because, more often than not, I felt they made sense.
This makes me selfish.

Still, I don't think post-rescue island life will be nearly as peaceful and stale as this fis seems to suggest. There will probably be a lot more action. I also expect some of the characters mentioned to die by the end of this season.



Because the writers still think ambiguous Kate is fun.


You just love the title.
It's a nice fic, but if this actually happened on the show, my disappointment in how they've been handling Skate lately would've been even bigger.
