I think Emilie mentioned how interesting it is to play a new version of Claire, without having to lose completely the old one (which is still underneath and may come back later on, and is also present in the sideways).

I guess what "ruins" it to me is that I know, or to better say I'm pretty confident about, what kind of ending is in store for the character, no matter how much crazy/darkness they give her at the moment.

I think the Claire on the island will be killed, when she tries to kill Kate.

I think Claire will either "snap out of it" on the island, or if she dies there, she will get her happy ending in ALT (assuming the ALT is here to stay).
The point is - Claire is not evil and will be "rewarded" with Aaron. IMO, there is no other possible ending for her story, so any crazyness up until that point falls a bit flat with me because I can't seriously get worried or scared by what it will lead her to.

I agree with that. I don't see any other resolution for Claire besides reuniting with Aaron. Despite whatever experience she might've had in the temple, I don't believe she's beyond saving like Sayid is.

Exactly. That's why all her "insane" moments come off as just "temporary" to me. I'm glad for Emilie, because she finally has a storyline and screentime, but this plot worked well the first time with Danielle & Alex, this time it has lost its originality and any surprise about the resolution.

BTW these last episodes reminded me that there were a lot of Locke/Claire fans in S2, lol.
