That was very annoying. I'm not gonna be a hypocrite and say I don't enjoy a shirtless Sawyer (when it's necessary), but that is far from being the only reason Sawyer is popular and a fan favorite. For Josh's sake, I hope he doesn't have any more shirtless scenes.

Ha! I thought I was the only one who would dare utter those words! I agree though, much as I love shirtless Sawyer, I'd gladly give it up to put an end to the stereotype.

You know, for as much as they pimped the shirtless bit the beginning of this season, they did give him a lot to work with this season, so maybe they're just trying to be funny, but I just hate that they perpetuate the misconception.

I'm sure they were trying to be funny, but saying it once would've been enough. They kept repeating it over and over like two frat boys.

I totally agree with all of this. But, he can have an open shirt once in a while.

I'm going to say somehting unpopular now but as much as I hate Damon and Carlton making the whole shirtless thing in S5 a running joke, I think they picked it up from how many fans (Sawyer fans included) went on and on about him emerging bare-chested from the ocean in the S4 finale.
So, somehow, "we" set ourselves up for their comments because it's clear that TPTB keep a big eye on the fanbase.

I don't think your statement is unpopular at all. It's obvious to me that they took it from the lady fans. We're red-blooded humans, after all. But there's a little thing called over doing it. That's where they always make their biggest mistakes.

I'm going to blame it on Damon and Carlton's mothers who both like Sawyer.

Can we also partially blame the online media? I mean, I love Kristin, but she always has a shirtless Sawyer photo for anything Lost related on her site, lol.

Yeah, but she was sucking it from the fanbase too. She wouldn't constantly say anything if there was no audience for it.

True. I just want it to stop. It's way past ridiculous now. And worse of all, it cheapens the great actor Josh really is.

Perhaps Josh got such a big tattoo hoping they would cut on the shirtless scenes to save money for the make-up, lol.

But... but... Carlton's mom was so prude and polite. I think Damon's mom forced him to write those shirtless scenes to placate her hormones.

I actually don't mind when there is a "lusting" comment about Sawyer as long as it's not the only thing/main thing a certain fan/journalist/reviewer mentions.

Damon and Carlton's joke at the beginning of the season hurt because they basically made a clear cut between fanboys watching for mythology and fangirls drooling over Sawyer while they don't understand a thing of what's going on with time traveling.
Thanks for the appreciation of my intelligence.

I think it's finally sinking in. They had the perfect opportunity in the LaFleur bedroom scene where Sawyer gets the call about the 0sux being back. Look who was topless and who wasn't. Plus, if Josh has been speaking up a lot more, maybe they finally got the hint.

Okay then. Damon's mom it is.

But didn't they repeat the joke in one of their interviews just before the finale?

Wasn't that in one of the podcasts?

Yeah, Josh has been mentioning the topless stuff a bit more in past interviews. He should do it often!
