I was pissed the hell off that Kate was looking down at the ground in that moment. It just makes things more ambiguous than they need to be, IMO.

If she looked back at Sawyer and their eyes met and then looked quickly away, that would have been enough for me to last this entire hiatus.

Had that happened the triangle would also be over, which is why the finale was completely useless, it didn't even move forward in resolving anything. Very lame storytelling from where I am standing

No it would not be over, because one hour later, when the possibility existed that they would all be dead, Kate only looked at Jack. Skate and Jate would have had something meanigful.

But how is that a good thing that at the end of the world, Kate and Sawyer look at Juliet and Jack to reassure them that they are making the right decision? I mean if their love was so strong wouldn't they convince them that detonating the bomb was a mistake?

What would it matter if Kate looked at Sawyer though? He was looking at Juliet. As far as she knows, they're over. Donezo. He's moved on. And vice versa. Those two 3 year relationships were coming to an end. That was the focus. Skate wasn't the point as they'd been separated and only reunited for 3 days. They were definitely put on the backburner for a reason. And it's why I believe next season will bring them back in a big way.

I do think the finale was bad for the quadrangle though, I also think Darlton fraked up a lot on some of the choices they made.

The finale was a pile of suck. Just about everything.
