I don't know. I don't want Kate to stay away from Jack when he is a junkie and a threat for Aaron, with the fear that it's the only reason why they aren't together.
After four years, I would like to know where her heart is, with Jack or Sawyer.

And I may be in the minority, but i think Kate has had other chances to see Jack's "dark side" in the past, without the need to live together with him. I don't think this hook up was necessary if not to take the triangle back at square one.

Random thought:

Jack wanted Kate to be present during his surgery and possibly see him die.

Sawyer told Kate to close her eyes when Pickett was about to shoot him.

I love Sawyer.

Well, it's only a big deal if you don't have surgery in time because the appendix can burst. Then you're in real trouble with infection. You can die from peritonitis.

But the stupid part of giving Jack appendicitis is we already knew it was not going to be life threatening.

I didn't made that parallel, aww.

The Jack plot on island was useless, it was there just to show how he still can't get over his control issues and how this leads him to inflict pain on himself.
It was annoying to watch because in a shortened season, with 2 episodes less due to the strike, and all the promises of fast pace we heard from the writers, plots like this one (when we know Jack is safe in the future) or Juliet's FB (creating another triangle only to drop Jack(Juliet 4 episodes later) feel like a waste of time.

Sawyer S1, anyone?

This is sooo annoying. They give him Sawyer's sonofvabitch, while Sawyer commits heroic deeds. It's a flip flop. I don't like it though. While I don't mind heroism from Sawyer (if it's not overdone), trying to flip Jack into Sawyerisms doesn't work. You need charisma to pull it off (which Jack doesn't have) so you don't become totally hated. But then many people hate Jack as it is, so... I don't know what I was trying to say. lol

You were trying to say that Sawyer > Jack.

I read Eduard Kitsis' interview over E! online about episode 10, and he said the moment when we see Jack deciding to pursue a relationship with Kate, and we see him waking up, stepping on the Millennium Falcon and make coffe before heading to the shower was there to show us a happy man, even if it was for a very brief period of time. Maybe they gave Sawyer's SOBs to Jack because we would've taken it as a sign of how carefree and relaxed Jack was there?

But it felt like they had given him a nickname used by Sawyer - it felt like a robbery to me, obsessed Sawyer fan.

Sawyer has showed heroism several times in the past.

Yea.. that episode was really HONESTLY unecessary.. I don't know why some can't see that.
With only 4 hours after it.. they could have done something MUCH more important with that time.

That was a happy man? While stubbing his toe on a toy and cursing? Oh. Okay.

Jack does Sawyer's signature phrase.
Jack's chest hair is miraculously shaved clean. Like Sawyer's.
He reads to Aaron. Like Sawyer.
He's in the bathroom in a towel like Sawyer in Long Con.

It was just weird.

And disturbing. Jack is not hot, cool, charming or clever. The sooner TPTB realize this, the better this show will be.

Agreed to all the ways they made Jack ATTEMPT to be like Sawyer.
Hopefully it was to show how it's supposed to be Skate, and not them trying to make people like Jack, because that is impossible.

And yea.. TPTB will never realize that, Crys.
As sad as that may be.

I think MF had to shave his chest because of Speed Racer, but I agree that all the other scenes looked a bit too Sawyerish to be a random coincidence. But then again, this show has a long tradition with recycling scenes - for instance Jack carrying Kate to the bedroom made me think of Kate and Kevin in I Do, and Kate played nurse to Jack like she did for Sawyer.

Or maybe one day we'll find out one day that Christian has another son called James.
