This is the off topic thread here we talk about anything and everything - it takes its name from Josh's boat.

Thanks for starting the new thread, Maria!
How is the weather in your area btw? Here we're divided between some who can't stand the crazy heat and some who can't stand the crazy cold.

The first thing that makes me think of is an overheating problem, but if it happens so rarely... I don't know.

That reminds me how I haven't seen Inception yet. Argh!
Any info about the character he'll play?

Just that he might be playing a villain.

I haven't seen Inception yet either. And now it's probably out of theaters. I'm just waiting for it to debut on my cable.

They showed it at the theater close to my house this past week-end, but I've been feeling like crap and I'd had to go alone and... couldn't master the energies to get my ass out of the house at night. Boo me.

I wouldn't have gone either unless someone else was coming with me. Especially at night. No, thanks. lol.

Oh, and we haven't discussed this yet. But all the celeb break-ups. wtf. Courtney Cox and David Arquette. Sad! Christina Aguilera and her husband. That one really shocked me. But.. so is the way of Hollywood. I don't know why any of them get married.

If David and Posh Beckham ever break up though, I'd probably weep. I adore them together.

I was a bit surprised by Courtney Cox and David Arquette's break-up, they had been together for over 10 years which is A LOT by Hollywood standars. But to be honest I've never read or watched any interview with them in the latest years, or read gossip about them, and if it's true that Courtney just couldn't take his immaturity anymore, perhaps the crisis has had a slow and long evolution.

I try to be super cool and say that I'm not affected by couples in real life, but if Josh and Yessica split (or Elizabeth and her husband) I'd go emo. I'll put up the mature front, and mope internally for a few weeks before making my peace with it.

Great news for you Julie! I've already told you how much I envy your self-control waiting to see something directly on TV or DVD.
I'm still at the pilot, but I need to check at least the 2 episodes after that.

I'm keeping up with the episodes; the characters are still dull as dirt except for the President and the Other woman. It's the plot that is getting me back each week. However, the utter stupidity of at least one scene per episode (i.e. lack of basic logic), has me rolling with laughter.

It's a bit depressing to hear the majority of characters haven't gotten any more depth to them, because that's usually what I watch a series for.
Your overall opinion about the show is positive, though, right? I mean, the good beats the stupid, or is it an even match?

I can't give it a glowing positive recommendation because of the total stupidity of some scenes. And, since it seems to happen every episode, I give it 3 out of 5 stars.

I agree with this assessment. The President is definitely the only character with some sort of charisma. The lead guy's girlfriend is a total n00b.
