Hey Haylie

Crys - how much time the doctors said it would take for the ears to heal? You mentioned a hearing test in August.

I have the power here driving me insane. They're doing some works on the new buildings around here, and they had to shut down the electricity for some time.
Only problem is, their announcement said it would stay down from 9 in the morning to 2 in the afternoon yesterday, and then they switched it back on at 5 - only to turn it off again from 6:30 to 9 pm.
And this morning there was no power for 3 hours again. So if you saw me post 1 message and then disappear again, you'll know why.

Crys, I watched Twilight.

Steph!

Jump in more often.

So, hmm, Twilight. I don't want to sound too harsh or like I love to criticize for the sake of it, but... I found it so bad, lol.
The love story is based on the fact that Edward being a vampire can pretty much charm everyone around him (his potential victims) and Bella is in awe of him, he falls in love with her because even being a mind-reader, he can't read her mind and that picked up his interest, along with the fact that Bella's blood smells and tastes better than any other blood on the planet to him. Bella, on her hand, develops an epic crush on this too-good-and-too-beautiful-to-be true guy, and worries that she isn't cool enough for him. Edward wants to know a lot about her, but mostly he simply interrogates her on her past, her parents, her tastes.
And boom, just like that it's love forever and ever. Bella is 17, but Edward is 118 so you would think he's a bit more rational or deep. Nope.

But the worst part of it is how Edward is always saving her ass, or being overprotective, or jealous, or making sure no one sniffes around her. There are some scenes where Bella sits on his laps like a little girl and they annoyed me, along with Edward's patronizing tone.

On that aspect, the movies spares you those cringe-worthy moments. It also fixes the fact that in the book nothing happens until the last chapters, when some bad guys arrives and Bella is in danger - in the movie they're introduced almost from the get go. And you're spared Meyers' bad writing.

The film felt rushed though, and that makes some stuff harder to take seriously.

I really wanted to see what's so cool in this story to make it such a hit, but I failed.

that's about what I expected you to think about the movie and I feel the same on most of the parts...

no... it seems like his mind is too clouded on love... it's hilarious...

yeah I didn't like that at all.. I wish they'd show Bella more independent

so I read the book about 2 years ago and back then nobody was talking about it and when I first read it I liked it because it is a cute lovestory and I'm always all in on lovestories, but then when it got this big hype out of it I read it again and I don't like how some teenagers think this is so realistic and now they're looking for their Edward... damn, I don't want such a wuzz as a boyfriend... I want a man
I didn't like the movie that much, the filmmaking sucked and the story did feel rushed, but I like Kristen Stewart because she did some great independent movies that I just love!!! and as an actress she is really down to earth and she doesn't like the hype that people make of the twilight story... so I will watch the other movies just to see what she does of the story

I'm not too big on romance, and I made the mistake to read the book after all the buzz arout it had started, I had some friends of mine read it and found it super cool, so I thought there was more than just the romance, that they addressed the vampire theme too.
Instead vampires here play baseball, sparkles in the sun, and are richer than Bill Gates - there is pretty much nothing else.

And Edward's love for Bella, basically she's like a giant chocolate cake he chose to smell without tasting, lol. I knew there were more books to the saga so I thought there would be more doubts and conflicts from each side about declaring themselves so in love. Bella from a certain point on just whines that he can't leave her, and Edward keeps repeating that it's in her interest if he stays away, but it never does it.

The worst part they translated in the movie? The way she simply leaves Jasper and Alice at the hotel like they weren't supposed to follow each step she takes given their special sense, and she appears in front of her house where the bad vampire led her to a trap in 1 second. In the second part they chopped off so many parts all the tension went out of the window.

And really, I even like Robert Pattinson, but he can't play a Greek god, almost angel-looking figure like Edward is supposed to be.

Glad the pain is manageable. All my doctors seem to like Motrin best. They also gave me an antibiotic called ... Cipro HC. It worked fine. It just takes like 2 weeks or a little more. So, how's the ears doing, any better today?

The ears still feel clogged up. And they still ache a bit. I'm so miserable. How long does it take for a perforated eardrum to heal?

Well, it's going to take a while. My infection took over 2 weeks to get to the point where it felt like I didn't have an ear plugged up with cement. And 4 weeks of antibiotics. I don't know what it would take for an eardrum. But probably 2 or more weeks. I did start to feel better after the first week.

Ugh! Well, it hasn't been a week yet. But I'm going to Mohegan Sun on Saturday and nothing is stopping me. I don't care how I feel.

Hopefully you feel better by this Saturday. Going out when you're not feeling too well can be very annoying.

An, hum, what's Mohegan Sun?

My internet connection is being a pain in the ass today, coupled with the power going on and off in the last two days I'm getting used to stay online 30 minutes and then have to take a forced paused, lol.

Was the series finale of Pushing Daisies satysfying?
