Happy Women Day? Such a thing exists? I didn't know!

Most of the snow melted yesterday.

I have heard of International Day of the Woman.

I love snow... not in March though.

Here The Women Day is a common celebration, it should be mostly linked to the civil rights (the celebration started after a disaster in a factory where more than 100 women died - I think it was in U.S., that's why I thought the recurrence was known there as well), but it has slowly become a mundane occasion somehow, to honor the tradition men have to give us acacia flowers (the yellow kind... which I don't know how it's called, here is a picture btw) or little gifts to show their appreciation of our awesomeness.

They also have a nice smell. The only problem is that carrying them around you're bound to leave a trail of yellow spots because they're pretty fragile.

Are you suppose to carry them around or is it just something a few people do?

No no, I meant in general, it's not like women have to show them around or anything.

But you can receive them in the morning by the guys at your work place or your male classmates at school, and it takes a while before they get back home with you, and in a vase.

I just got the TV I have in my room fixed the other day (after one year 9, so I'm turning it on more often... and I'm reminded of how much boring the shows here are, lol!

The strike has reminded me of the same thing. I was watching several shows hoping they would get better , but I realized I don't miss them. I am only taping one or two shows a night and sometimes it takes a few days to watch the shows.

In my case, computer has totally taken the place TV had in my life before. Sometimes I watch on it even stuff I could watch on TV.

I was doing that as well. I would watch shows the next day on the network's website. I was watching Heroes for the cast commentary the next day and I was watching Pushing Daisies to add to it's total viewings.

How is PD doing, rating wise? I quit watching Heroes after the first 8-10 episodes... I don't even know why, it went on a break I think and when it came back I was too lazy to go back to get the episodes.

I just read a news about Dominic Monaghan planning a trip to Africa to find a rare giant spider which was last spotted in the first years of 1900. The guy is crazy.

Pushing Daisies hasn't been on the air since November or December. It ran out of episodes and no more will be produced this season. It was renewed for a second season , but it's ratings weren't that good.

Dom does love his creepy crawlies.

Bummer. It's a nice series, it should get more watchers.

Spiders are the only insects I'm terrified of. I'm sorry for Dom, but I hope that giant monster is extinct.

It's getting slightly better with very tiny spiders now, in the past no matter the size, I would be scared to death in front of any of them.

But I still try to stay away from those little monsters as much as I can, especially since some years ago I found out some of them can jump - and I've had one jumping on me.
