It wasn't awful at all. Least I didn't think so. It was one of the best episodes in the season. And I mostly hated S4.

Eggtown sucked ass. So did The Other Woman. I was kinda meh on a couple others.

To be honest, the two things that irked me the most about both S4 and S5 was the emphasis on one particular group. In season four it was the mind-numbingly boring O6 storyline and this past season with the 70's Dharma storyline. I hated both.

i thought it was necessary to have the focus on them...seeing why they would come back away from their horrible lives

I'm not so sure. Because most of the O6 and Dharma stuff was redundant and slow and could've been shown in less time. Ok, the O6 were miserable and shouldn't have left the island. We didn't need a bazillion episodes to hammer it home. Same with the Dharma storyline that stalled episode after episode because the big incident was all that mattered in the finale. It was a waste. We still don't know what the hell the DI is all about.

but with the O6 we had to see each individual one to know their motivation

In a lot less episodes that's for damn sure. I'm not saying that story didn't need to be told, but it was far too time consuming.

well they had one centric for all of them
and the finale as well but we had to see them get off

My favorite episode in ALL of season four would have to be The Shape Of Things to Come (along with The Economist & The Constant). It had a lot of the three characters I love more than anything. Ben, Sawyer and Locke. Can't go wrong with that trio.

I agree you can't go wrong with that trio. I love their scenes together. I love the scene when Ben comes out of the door that he had disappeared into. He and Sawyer give each other a dirty look then Ben says "scuse me James" and James says "scuse you?".

Great characters can sometimes look at each other and have the best scenes in the show.

Those 3 actors seem to enjoy themselves on set which I think helps with the chemistry with each other.

I thought Cabin Fever and the finale were great episodes. Could've done without Locke's flashback though.
