Josh as Sawyer in Lost S4: Fear our detective skills, foiler guys. *SPOILERS*

This thread is to collect and discuss all the news, spoilers and speculations about Sawyer in the fourth season of Lost.

We will survive the hiatus!

Spoilers
September 1, 2007

- Via DarkUFO's blog - First Season 4 Set Photos
- From Jorge Garcia @ The Fuselage - about Hurley and Jack
Spoiler:
I know we have some stuff up ahead.

August 31, 2007
SpoilerFix.com - Guest star role
Spoiler:
An upcoming episode will feature a female translator in her 30s who works at a university and translates from French to English.

August 30, 2007
- Entertainment Weekly - ''Lost'' producers on their five new actors
- DarkUFO's blog - Jeremy Davies will be a frieghter character
- From ODI at E! Online’s Tater Top Awards Show
Spoiler:
For those of you that said Ben....nope sorry you were wrong....for those of you that felt it was Michael....nope wrong again.....those who said it is somebody we have not seen before nope wrong once again....BUT for alllll of you that said everyone's favortie hunter Locke....you are right...!!

Like I said this is from Kristin who is known to be a VERY reliable source on LOST but she also did say the writers changed their mind about showing Locke....soooo at this point who knows......maybe they will change their minds again....!!??

- HawaiiThreads.com - Another filming sightings
Spoiler:
Saw them shooting on N. King last thursday. Lot's of Cali plates and a Swap Shop.

August 29, 2007
Ask Ausiello - Aldo
Spoiler:
Question: Gasp! I love you, Michael, but I'm extremely worried about you. You wasted your energy answering two questions about One Tree Hill in last week's column, and you didn't even mention Lost once! I feel like I'm in the Twilight Zone.— Nora
Ausiello:
Imagine how I felt. I haven't had a decent night's sleep since that column ran last Wednesday. The good news? Order has been restored to the universe and, to prove it, here's a little Lost prattle: As you know, It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia's Rob McElhenney did a small role last season as an Other. Well, here's what you don't know: The scene where Julie rifle-butted him in the head was not the last we were supposed to see of him. He was slated to appear in the May finale in some kind of big Others scene, but he was unavailable due to his Philadelphia sked. If I had a gambling problem, I'd bet my firstborn that we'll see him again.

August 28, 2007
From lizziefitz @ Lost-Forum.com:
Spoiler:
'I just sat in on Isabelle's (of spoilerfix.com) chat at buddytv.com, and she says that "multiple sources confirm" that the first episode is Sawyer-centric.'

August 27, 2007
Watch with Kristin - cast changes?
Spoiler:
Ginny in Ipswich, Massachusetts: Will there be any cast changes this season on Lost?
Aside from the newbies we announced last week (much thanks to Korbi for that scoop!), Entertainment Weekly is now reporting that Grindhouse’s Jeff Fahey will join the island crew this year. I can also tell you that, although I had heard a while back that we’d be seeing a little less of Matthew Fox this season, so far there are no signs of any “Jack-off” days on the production schedule (sorry, I couldn’t resist, I’m 12). So, we’ll see.

August 25, 2007
From HawaiiThreads.com - Another filming sighting
'They were filming yesterday afternoon and evening in the forest across Kam Highway from Heeia Kea Harbor, where Ryan saw that section of the plane, currently stored under a tarp. [...] I wouldn't be surprised if they're shooting there today too, given the huge amount of equipment I saw yesterday evening.'

August 24, 2007
- From TheHade @ The Fuselage - Matthew Fox is still in Berling filming "Speed Racer"
- From Jacobe via DarkUFO's blog - First filming sightings
Spoiler:
I live in Kalihi, Hawaii. Yesterday, LOST was filming on N King Street by the Discount Store and Tamashiro Market, for those that live in Hawaii.
I was able to spot Josh Halloway (Sawyer). So I'm assuming a Sawyer flashback. OR maybe a flash-forward??
The scene involved a car being chased by two police cars, leading to the first car to jump a ramp and crash.
That's all I was able to see.
Sorry, I wasn't able to record or take pictures.

August 15, 2007
Ask Ausiello - About Arthur Stevens
Spoiler:
New character alert! The show has started casting the recurring role of Arthur Stevens, a very tall and thin corporate recruiter who is smart, capable and ruthless. "He may smile and his words may sound soothing," reads the casting notice, "but their effect can send chills up your spine."

August 13, 2007
From Jorge Garcia posting on DarkUFO's blog: Season 4 Filming starts around Wednesday 22/Thursday 23

August 12, 2007
- From the Lost official magazine, via SpoilerFix.com:

- From secretagentman @ TWOP - more casting news
Spoiler:
Also appearing in 401 and 402, with possibly more eps down the line, is Arthur Stevens. He is a ruthless corporate recruiter, tall and thin, with a chilling prescence.

Exclusive: Kristen Bell Won't Be Getting Lost - Ausiello Report | TVGuide.com

August 8, 2007
Entertainment Weekly.com - 'Lost': Fantasy Island
Spoiler:
The producers deny that: 1) ABC is moving Lost to Friday night, at 9 p.m; 2) they have offered Peter Stormare a role in Lost's fourth season; 3) they have offered Forest Whitaker a two-episode gig in the upcoming season.

August 7, 2007
Ask Ausiello about the casting for Champignon
Spoiler:
Question: Have you spoken to Darlton about having Kristen Bell on Lost? If you pull this off, I swear (and you have this in writing, with AA witnesses) that I will send you one case of Diet Raspberry Snapple for every episode of Lost that Kristen appears on. Hope you're up for the challenge!— Erin
Ausiello: You better get busy clipping them there Snapple coupons, Erin. And while you're at it, slap on a pair of Depends, 'cause this is the kind of exclusive casting prattle that causes mass piddling: I can tell you for a fact that Kristen's name has been brought up with regard to the new role of Charlotte, the hot twentysomething who is said to be "precocious, loquacious and funny... a very successful academic who also knows how to handle herself in the real world." Yep, sounds like our Kristen! The only question now is whether my in-demand BFF is ready to jump back into another series. And, if so, will the financial toll wrought by all those Snapple purchases force Erin to declare bankruptcy? Please, God, let the answer be "Yes!" to all of the above!

August 6, 2007
Whatch with Kristin - Casting rumors
Spoiler:
Rosie in Houghton, Michigan: Have you heard anything about Peter Stormare and/or Forest Whitaker appearing on Lost this season?
Interestingly, Peter and Forest have the same manager. We heard the same rumors you did and asked if either of those guys would be appearing on Lost this season. The management company came back with "not that we know of." That doesn't mean they're not working on a deal for one or both of them to be on Lost. But if it is true, it sounds like nothing is certain.

August 2, 2007
by Sam G @ The Fuselage - More details about the casting spoilers
Spoiler:
Jack Bender is directing
401 & 402
[RUSSELL] - late 30s, a brilliant mathematician and deep thinker who is capable of great insights and has a tremendous knowledge across various scientific fields. He sometimes struggles socially by being too direct and disconnected in his interpersonal relationships. While an empiricist by trade he is humbled and fascinated by the magic and mystery of all in this world that cannot be explained by science....RECURRING ARC WITH A POSSIBLE OPTION FOR SERIES REGULAR FOR NEXT SEASON. Starts with Episode 1 - 8/19/07
[CHARLOTTE] -- late 20s. Very attractive in a naturalistic, athletic way, her looks are only one small part of charms. Precocious, loquacious, and funny, Charlotte a very successful academic who also knows how to handle herself in the real world. On a personal level it is hard to crack the hard shell of poise and certainty around her, but when it DOES crack its like an egg; lots of repressed and pent up emotions spill out....RECURRING ARC WITH A POSSIBLE OPTION FOR SERIES REGULAR FOR NEXT SEASON. Starts with Episode 2 - 8/29/07

August 1, 2007
Ausiello Report | TVGuide.com - Lost Introduces the Other Others!?
Spoiler:
First up is the recurring character of Russell, described as a brilliant mathematician in his late thirties who is "capable of great insights and has a tremendous knowledge across various scientific fields." Well, won't that be helpful. Unfortunately, he tends to be too direct for his own good, and as a result, his personal relationships don't always add up. Russell is scheduled to turn up in Episode 1. Also recurring is Charlotte (debutting in Episode 2), a hot twentysomething who is said to be "precocious, loquacious and funny... a very successful academic who also knows how to handle herself in the real world." Interestingly, she, too, has a tough time relating to people. Beneath the surface, there's "lots of repressed and pent-up emotions."

Season 4 Rumours by JOE
Spoiler:
1. The AICN stuff about flash-forwards and flash-backs is true. It will be roughly split in half, the flash-forwards will tell a story culminating with how we saw season 3 end. That doesn't necessarily mean just Jack and Kate get off the island, but whatever flash-forwards we see will culminate with Jack deciding they have to go back and trying to convince Kate.
2. The flash-backs will be mostly from Others: Juliet, Ben, Alpert, although Desmond is definitely slated for at least 1.
3. The temple is important, and will be explored in the last half of the season
4. Rousseau isn't telling the truth about her experience on the island
5. Karl and Alex will have a more central role.
6. Sawyer and Kate will continue to be distant.
7. Locke will not be part of the main group of castaways for the majority of the season, he will be off to the temple with Alpert and then doing his own thing.
8. You won't be able to tell right away that what arrives in the ship is bad news, but it absolutely is

I posted in the other thread after you put the link to this one.

Apart from the last thing LOL... I'm going to strangle someone if they ruin him just because they weren't able to create a decent plan for his story and are going to ignore the previous three seasons.

That's about it.
There was something from Matt Roush about the Critics panel and the Comic Con thing where he's sort of sucking up to Darlton and says they know where they're going but nothing spoilery, just talking for the sake of it.
Let me know if something is missing/wrong.

ETA - I brought your post here to reply.

Don't get sucked into my pessimistic mood. You need to resist. We can't both be freaking out about worst case scenarios.

I need you to stay calm, dammit. *doctor Jack mode*

But if they do ruin him, you won't keep quiet about your feelings, right?

Not a chance. I'm already bitchy now, I don't want to imagine what my posts will look like then. And I'll go around my issues and be sure to post everywhere.

I'm off to bed, see you tomorrow!

LOL, thanks Crystal. The main difference is that we take note of anything, even the most absurd rumor. After the Bumpy scoop about the Ana/Sawyer sex, we've gone for the "Never say never" policy.

Misty, I'm trying to type down the first macro-entry over the comm., with the re-cap of the all spoilers we've gotten so far. When I'm done I'll let you know so you'll give me your opinion. If it's ok, then we'll do the same for the rumors.

They really are bad.
Black lines are better but even those annoy me when spoilers are very long.

How does the entry look so far?

I will never understand the reason to use spoiler tags. If the title say "Spoilers", and you enter the thread anyway, then why should I hide the text from you? You opened the thread willingly.

It's taking me ages because as you can see at the bottom of the screenshot, Windows is downloading "updates", it's been going on for more than an hour now and the process is stillat 30% ;_; , and that thng is slowing my computer down immensely, even the letters I type on the keyboard appear on the screen after several seconds. Damn.

I know. Then sometimes you have to be extra careful and label the spoilers (whole season, next episode, preview, Sawyer, Skate...).

It looks great and you made an introductory part for every single spoiler. You rock.
I just now realized that you chose a (light) blue layout and that Sawyer weas it a lot. *Yes, I'm slow.*

Damn indeed. I hope everything's been updated by now.

Thanks Maria! (I just saw your post, I was swearing over my computer being slow, I got distracted )

Misty, we have a problem.
The preview I posted to you shows the comment page as it looks in the Plus Account (option that allows you to have it costumized with this layout), but, the ads in the home page didn't look very good with the journal still so "empty" so I switched back to the original Basic Account. But this way the internal page isn't costumized anymore, and it looks this way:
spoiler_expert: SPOILERS ARCHIVE

What do you suggest?
Going back to the Plus Account, or go find a different layout which have the comment page customized even for the Basic Account?

Also: when I posted the scoops from Kristin and Ausiello I posted the whole thing (fan question + answer). Should we leave just the link like we do here on the forum, only adding a brief description of the content?

It all looks good to me.
Did you chose the blue colour for dates?

I think it's better to leave all the questions there.

Thanks again.
