Jane sounds British to me. Probably because of Jane Austen.

From Ausiello's chat:
Spoiler:
Question: Is their any confirmative information regarding Cynthia Watros' much-anticipated return to Lost in Season 4?— David King

Ausiello: Can't confirm that Watros is returning, but I can say that Libby's story will definitely be revisited this season. Backing up what he and Damon Lindelof teased at Comic-Con last week, Carlton Cuse tells me, "There is a cool part of [Libby's] story that we have yet to tell."

Ausiello on Grey’s Anatomy, Heroes, Lost, Ugly Betty, 24 and More! - Ask Ausiello | TVGuide.com

We kind of knew that.

I guess the "cool part" is
Spoiler:
Libby working for Dharma, unless the producers were joking at Comic Con.

Ausiello, even when Kristin is away for her hiatusmoon, she's better than you.

*goes to update the first post*

Ausiello fighting back.

From his Report:
Spoiler:
Lost Introduces the Other Others!?

Far be it from me to speculate on whether or not the new Lost casting intel that just landed in my lap are for the Other Others whose arrival was imminent in last season's finale. But if you want to wager about who these newbies are, who am I to stop you? Herewith, the evidence. Do with it what (you and I both know) you will.

First up is the recurring character of Russell, described as a brilliant mathematician in his late thirties who is "capable of great insights and has a tremendous knowledge across various scientific fields." Well, won't that be helpful. Unfortunately, he tends to be too direct for his own good, and as a result, his personal relationships don't always add up. Russell is scheduled to turn up in Episode 1.

Also recurring is Charlotte, a hot twentysomething who is said to be "precocious, loquacious and funny... a very successful academic who also knows how to handle herself in the real world." Interestingly, she, too, has a tough time relating to people. Beneath the surface, there's "lots of repressed and pent-up emotions."

Come Episode 2, when Charlotte debuts, who would you like to see play her? And what about math-dude Russell? Post your casting tips below!

Lost Introduces the Other Others!? - Ausiello Report | TVGuide.com

Random: I've started to convince myself lately that EM is the "outcast."
I think I might send a question about Juliet for the next week's spoiler chat.
For some reason, these recent casting spoilers make me think she could get killed off.

Spoiler:
It's unlikely to happen, but I'm going to laugh my ass off if Charlotte is Jack's third love interest. Another tough girl member of another group... I see a pattern.

I'll send a question about Juliet too, it might help if more people ask about 1 person. If it's not EM, they could say it.

P.S I'm tipsy. Hee!

Some think they might appear in the FF, but I think they'll both be Boaties.
I'm really curious to see who they'll cast.

Unless this time she's here for our boy.

I'll ask something in general about Juliet in season 4 so that they can give any kind of info. Or maybe something random like: Will Juliet die?

Glad you had fun.

More details about this casting spoiler from Sam G on the Fuselage:
Spoiler:
Jack Bender is directing

401 & 402

[RUSSELL] - late 30s, a brilliant mathematician and deep thinker who is capable of great insights and has a tremendous knowledge across various scientific fields. He sometimes struggles socially by being too direct and disconnected in his interpersonal relationships. While an empiricist by trade he is humbled and fascinated by the magic and mystery of all in this world that cannot be explained by science....RECURRING ARC WITH A POSSIBLE OPTION FOR SERIES REGULAR FOR NEXT SEASON. Starts with Episode 1 - 8/19/07

[CHARLOTTE] -- late 20s. Very attractive in a naturalistic, athletic way, her looks are only one small part of charms. Precocious, loquacious, and funny, Charlotte a very successful academic who also knows how to handle herself in the real world. On a personal level it is hard to crack the hard shell of poise and certainty around her, but when it DOES crack its like an egg; lots of repressed and pent up emotions spill out....RECURRING ARC WITH A POSSIBLE OPTION FOR SERIES REGULAR FOR NEXT SEASON. Starts with Episode 2 - 8/29/07

Sam G gave us more than Ausiello. Michael, losing two times in two days?

Spoiler:
They're Boaties, no doubt about it from me. I'm reading the updated description of Charlotte (poor thing, with this name), and she's a bit like Kate version 2.0. Maybe it's just me. Russell screams more mythology to me.

The games/recurring features in his column. Also if Kristin is on our "side", Michael is with the "enemy".

Everything is possible, but while in S1/S2 made sense, in S4 and especially after The Brig it would not only look unlikely to see him interested in someone else, but if they also made him open up/deeply bond with a new character it would be pure OOC stuff for Sawyer.

LOL! I would go with the first option.

I did. Drinks helped, lol.

I'll add the new info to the opening post.

Spoiler:
I've seen a few people saying the descriptions sound like Jack and Kate.
I don't think Russell is anything like our Doc, except for being an educated man.

Charlotte reminds me of Kate but mostly as far as physical appearence goes.
The emotinal stuff may or may not be similar. We'll see.

The following three things don't sound like Freckles to me:
precocious - I think they referring to her intellectual development and scientific career.
loquacious - I'll just say that Kate is a woman of few words.
funny - can be when she's around Sawyer. Otherwise she's been pretty serious and angsty, especially lately.

Maybe they could be FF characters who'll help Jack and Kate go back to the island (and in time). Still recurring means they should have quite a few appearences.
And if they do become regulars in seeason 5, I assume a bigger part of thet season would be set on mainland than on the island (in case they appear in FF only).

I'd rather they were Boaties. But the descriptions don't sound very sinister to me. The new group is supposed to be bad and evil. Russell and Charlotte don't seem to fit.

He's a jater. I also think he doesn't like Sawyer.
He doesn't seem to be getting hate mail though.

OK.

I was wondering if Carlton was the one whose interview made around January made us believe that Kate would have an interesting storyline in the second half of the season?
If he is, I might start worrying for Sawyer.

LMAOOOO!
(When it comes to spill the bean to Jack, she's loquacious, though)
Spoiler:
Physically I can paire the new chick with Said, emotionally with Hurley.

Perhaps they're the only good ones, the ones who "will last" of the new group, a la Juliet.

About Sawyer and Chewbacca Chiwawa Champignon *insert her funny name here*, I'm in the optimistic camp for now, can't see it happen, in any form.

I doubt Hugo will be getting any loving soon, but even Sayid having a new love interest after Shannon would be too much.

Poor girl.
I always expect the worst.

I have no idea. I tried to google it once, not long ago, but I couldn't find anything.
It could be useful to check old Skate spoilers threads on L-F from around Jabuary.
I know! I'll try and find Skate CSI link somewhere. I think it hasn't been updated for a while but that interview should be there.
I'll check it out.

ETA 1: I didn't find anything on CSI Skate LJ.
I cannot get on L-F. It's been so slow the whole day and the message "We will be right back!" has been there for hours now.

ETA 2: From Dark's site:
  • ABC Summer Lost Podcast (I haven't listened to it. I'm waiting for others to do it.)

  • We recently broke some casting rumours over in the Rumours section which appear now to have been partially confirmed thanks to Johan and Jacob who found this article from Sweden.

Does this now mean that the Forest Whitaker rumour from the same source is true?

Also, as spotted by AmberTiffany, Peter Stormare also stared in this film. Purgatory (1999) (TV)

    Spoiler:
A Scoop from Sweden. Peter Stormare (Fargo, Prison Break) tells swedish media that he has been offered a role in Lost season 4. Sorry, but the article is only in Swedish:

I'm translating Stormare: "They want me one season and I've have to decide within a month" He also says it's difficult to do a tv-show because thats all you do for a year and he wants to stay open for roles in movies.

    Cheers /Johan

Aftonbladet: Stormare erbjuds roll i ”Lost”

    Source: Aftonbladet

Lost Spoilers: Peter Stormare has been offered role on Lost

Me neither. With Sayid, it was because they were too different in their experiences and maturity, but I felt it "fake" since the beginning because they showed us the importance of Nadia (looking for a person for 7 years, then saying ILY to a another woman after 1 month? Hmm). With Hurley, it was because I always suspected Libby was up to something, the fact that I didn't like her character didn't help. But Shannon died in episode 2x06... D&C could plan something for Sayid again after 40 episodes. Or maybe there will be just some platonic stuff? BTW, if the two newbies were together or just had an affair, it would be mentioned in the casting info, right? So it's not a possibility.

Thanks anyway.

And than you for posting the news from DarkUFO's.
So we have at least 3 new roles in S4.
I'll try to listen to the podcast as soon as my mother go downstairs.

Summer podcast is actually the audio from Comic Con so I woudn't bother listening to it.

I tried to find that old interview on L-F but I couldn't. I give up.

We could send some questions to Kristin or Ausiello asking who'll e cracking Champignon's shell.
How do you submit questions to Michael?

I read on TWOP that the Swedish magazne seemed to imply Peter Stormare's role is written especially for him.

Perhaps it was in a audio/video clip? Or you're sure it was a printed interview?

I like the actor, I despise the idea of ANOTHER role non necessary for the story though.

I don't think so. I think it was written.
Somebody posted a link or transcribed a part of the interview in one of the Skate spoiler threads.
I used "search" feature on L-F and in some older Skate threads, but couldn't find anything. Even if it was audio/video clip, something should've come up becasue it was discussed by Skaters.

Unless I should've checked Damon instead of Carlton.
Maybe I could try again.

I'll ask him and Kristin about Juliet and Champignon. He loves EM.

BTW Isabel is dead. Damon seemed to have said it at comic Con.

I'm off to cut my hair. See you later.
