Colony ordered to series!

USA Network is making a series commitment to “Colony,” ordering 10 episodes of the thriller.

“Colony,” which stars Josh Holloway (“Lost”) and Sarah Wayne Callies (“The Walking Dead”), is executive produced by Carlton Cuse (“Bates Motel,” “The Strain”) and Ryan Condal (“Hercules”). A co-production between Legendary Television and Universal Cable Productions, it will shoot in Los Angeles.

Set in the near future, “Colony” centers on a family — headed up by Holloway and Callies — who must make difficult decisions as they balance staying together with trying to survive. They live in L.A., which has been occupied by a force of outside intruders. While some people have chosen to collaborate with the authorities and benefit from the new order, others have rebelled — and suffer the consequences.

“Carlton and Ryan have created an intriguing ride that uniquely provides a humanistic take on a story set in the near future,” said USA president Chris McCumber. “Josh and Sarah have incredible on-screen chemistry and brilliantly play a couple making tough choices to protect their family in an uncertain world.”

The series not only marks a reunion for Cuse and his “Lost” star, Holloway, but also adds another series to the producer‘s expanding slate. He’s currently executive producer on A&E’s “Bates Motel” and “The Returned” as well as FX’s “The Strain.” He also has a pilot, “Point of Honor,” now under consideration on Amazon.

“I’ve loved my experience at USA,” Cuse told Variety. “I feel like they’re extremely good at what they do. They’re very clear about what their network is all about, and what they want.”

“Colony” is the fourth new show to be added to USA’s 2015 lineup, joining the previously announced hacker drama “Mr. Robot,” starring Christian Slater; the event series “Dig,” starring Jason Isaacs and Anne Heche, from executive producers Tim Kring (“Heroes”) and Gideon Raff (“Homeland”); and the thriller “Complications,” from “Burn Notice” executive producer Matt Nix and starring Jason O’Mara and Jessica Szohr.
