It is likely all the Numbers on the dial and the corresponding names refer to characters who have been on the Island at some point.

The Pagoda
While running through the dial, Jack sees images of a pagoda in the mirror. This is the pagoda where Jin and Sun were married, the place Jacob visited them.

The Church
While running through the dial, Jack sees images of a church in the mirrors. This is the church where Sawyer’s parents were buried, the place Jacob visited him.

The Shephard House
When the dial turns to Jack’s number, 23, it shows Jack’s childhood home. Oddly, this is NOT where we saw Jacob visit him, possibly suggesting that there’s something special about Jack, or that the number 23 belongs to a different Shephard, maybe his dad Christian.

MacCutcheon
On the liquor table in Jack’s dad’s house, there was a bottle of MacCutcheon whiskey. This is the drink of choice for Charles Widmore and Anthony Cooper (Locke’s dad).

“Fantasie-Impromptu”
On David’s desk in the altverse was the sheet music to Frederic Chopin’s “Fantasie-Impromptu." This is the same song young Daniel Faraday was seen practicing in “The Variable."

The Annotated Alice
Alice in Wonderland is often used on Lost surrounding Jack, either with the titles of Jack-centric episodes (“White Rabbit," “Through the Looking Glass") or when he was shown reading it to Aaron the same way he claims he read it to his son David in the altverse.

Stone Rabbit
Jack found the key to David’s mom’s house under a stone rabbit. Not only do rabbits frequently appear on Lost, but a similar stone rabbit with a key was previously found by Miles in a flashback when he used it to enter the apartment of a recently deceased man named Mr. Vonner.

Adam and Eve
While at the caves, Hurley theorized that the skeletons were actually Hurley and Jack if they time traveled back to dinosaur times. Since the skeletons were first discovered in season 1, this has been a popular theory among fans on the Internet

As stated in Jorge Garcia's podcast "Geronimo Jack's Beard", the script for "The Substitute" mentions that there should be "over a hundred names" written on the cave.
Justin says that Jin "is one of them" when Aldo is about to kill him, to which Aldo replies that "he may be one of them," possibly referring to him as being a candidate. ("What Kate Does")
Cued by Jacob, Hurley asserts his status as a candidate and his right to do as he pleases. ("Lighthouse")
Of all the known candidates from the Oceanic Flight 815 survivors faction, Sawyer (and Jin, if he is a candidate) are the only ones who have not returned to the mainland since coming to the Island.
Jack's number, 23, corresponds to his seat number on Oceanic Flight 815, 23B.
No one from the tail section of 815 was shown to be on the cave's list.
Assuming Linus means Ben, Brennan means the science expedition member, and that all other surnames mean the most obvious (what is assumed in the table above), and counting Burke and Linus as Others and the people from the freighter who were on the Island as DHARMA kids as freighter people, there are fifteen passengers of Oceanic Flight 815 on the walls, four Others, two freighter people, three members in the French team, three members of the U.S. Army, two DHARMA members, and fourteen completely unknown people there.
Frank was not seen to have met Jacob or to have his name on the wall, but was indicated by Bram as a "possible candidate". Kate was seen to be touched by Jacob but her name was not identified as being on the wall.
Ana Lucia Cortez was mentioned as a possible candidate by Goodwin, but as of yet she has not been shown to be on the wall.
It is possible that Ilana (who was specifically recruited by Jacob) is on the wall, as we do not yet know her last name.
There are several references to some of the characters written on the cave who are previously referred to as not being on Jacob's list:
In "I Do", Danny Pickett mentioned that "Shephard wasn't even on Jacob's list".
In "Par Avion", Mikhail states that Kate is not on the list because she is "flawed"; Sayid is not on the list because he is "weak and frightened"; and Locke is not on the list because he is angry.
The list includes two inside jokes for numbers 197 and 202. Sheckler and Harggus are two characters portrayed by American stand up comedian Jim Norton on the Opie and Anthony Show, heard on Sirius/XM Radio. The show is heard on Channel 197 on the Sirius platform and Channel 202 on the XM platform.
Assuming the lighthouse wheel is completely filled with names and there are no other candidates, there would be a total of 360 potential candidates.
Some numbers on the lighthouse wheel don't correspond to their respective candidates. This is likely due to Jacob taking off candidates due to no longer watching them, and therefore replacing them with new candidates

Even though the ep had no Sawyer, I actually liked it. I haven't enjoyed a Jack episode this much since the S3 finale.

Jack continues to be as self-centred as always. He's ready to follow Hurley only after he hears that Jacob thinks he has what it takes, he gets teary eyed after hearing his own message from David's voice-mail, he came back because he was broken and wanted the island to fix that (not to save anyone), he's only interested in his own number on the list and goes ballistic over it.

-Still don't like them meta comments (Jack looking at the ocean, why no one saw Lighthouse before – haha)
-Jin knowing about Kate raising Aaron and talking about them before having gotten to mention his own daughter bugged a bit. I know we can't see every conversation, but they could've dropped in Ji-Yeon's name somewhere into the conversation.
-Juliet could be David's mother and, since exes don't usually go out on dates, I think we'll see her invite Sawyer out for a Dutch date
-the only name I'm able to see very clearly on every list is Jarrah

-Claire and Locke hanging out together on the island reminded me of earlier seasons when some people jokingly shipped - I don't remember how they called the ship on Lost-forum - maybe Coake?

I wouldn't say this episode was bad although it didn't really advance the plot much – they are still dancing around the numbers reveals.

Most of Jack's alt storyline was about the relationship with his son and the scenes they shared were okay, but David is a completely new character and that Jack is also kind of a new character.

I hate the idea that alt universe and alt Losties could be the only one(s) we'll be left with. It just doesn't feel right. I don't care if their lives mirroring the previous ones and being reversed will bring them happiness – why the hell should they all be happy? I want some of them dead, some miserable, some happy, some crazy etc.

And I'll hate if David gets to exist, but Clementine doesn't even tough she was there before him. It's not fair.

Jack smashing the mirror was so.. Jack. The S5 mellowness is gone.

Also, Jin knowing Kate raised Aaron when he hasn't asked a single thing about his own kid irked me too. When did they have this conversation? lol.

I'm still meh over this AU timeline as well. I'm just waiting to see what Sawyer's episode entails before I write it off completely, lol.
