Lost has completely screwed up my perception of night and day.

Added some screencaps from the promo and a YouTube link to the OP.

This episode looks like "The Adventures of Hugo and Miles", and confirms to me that our dear Encino boy has replaced Sawyer in the funny scenes with Hurley.

It looks like he's teaching, but he's probably there to clean the classroom. Maybe he'll see someone or something important there.

Looking at the text in front of him on the blackboard, I thought he could've discovered some info about the history of the island or the statue, but your guess about cleaning the classroom makes much more sense than by absurd specs.

I like how Evi makes clear that all the things Kate has been telling herself were excuses to justify her keeping Aaron, but regarding the roles of characters like Cassidy, while I understand the value of something putting you "in front of the mirror", I would like it more if Lost had the main characters say what's on their mind from time to time, instead of having guest stars voice their thoughts.

If you don't plan to make more than one promo, ABC could at least do a good job with it.

No. Maybe they decided to air the same ones ABC does.
