I'm one of them.

Actually what I'm wishing for is that there is more stuff in the episode than the scenes described so far. Unfortunately I let go of the hope that the summary was a fake when ABC had the clip with pages of the synopsis to be taken down.

Yep. I guess whatever was up was right or ABC wouldn't have made him remove the synopsis.

Exactly. If it was fake they would've left it spread around as a way to distract us.

But it's very possible the guy who saw the episode didn't watch the fial version, and some scenes - especially if they're the so called "top secret" stuff, has been edited in at the last minute later on.

I desperately hope so. Because that synopsis is absolute garbage for a season finale.

1. The same old tired argument. Yawn.
2. Kinda cool. But Keamy must die.
3. Trio of awesomeness. Yes, I think Michael is awesome.
4. It appears Jack and Hurley will have front row seats to Kate/Sawyer's kiss.
5. Locke may be the "chosen" one, but knowledge is power and Ben will always have the upper hand.
6. Uh, what the frak you talking about, Miles?

I like Michael. too. He's not one of my favs, but I've always enjoyed his character - though a big part of this is because of the raft adventure, I loved many moments between Sawyer and Michael. And yes, in the end I always manage to make it all about Sawyer.

I'm intrigued by what Miles said about Charlotte. Rebecca Mader told Ausiello that we would get an interesting bit of info about Charlotte in the finale, and I guess she was referring to this. It will be cool to see what's all about in S5.

And this comes from a person who has spent a lot of episodes with the urge to slap Locke hard this year, but... to me, John > Ben. I've enjoyed several moments with Ben in the latest episodes, but this doesn't change the sensation I get from how they're writing Ben, sometimes resembling a weird mix between James Bond, Inspector Gadget and Austin Powers. lol

I wish James had his storyline.

I don't. I think I might end up looking at Sawyer more as a cartoonish figure than a human being.

I wish Sawyer had the same amount of screentime of Ben, though.

I like the idea of James being in control and everyone else wanting him to tell them what is happening.

So Kate is mad at Jack for trusting Locke about the going back stuff, but she was willing to lie about the island because Jack and Locke said so.

She still has to explain to Aaron why Jack isn't reading to him anymore? They lived together for about a week.

Some Sawyer quotes from various reviews.

'Lost' solves a big mystery and raises more - USATODAY.com
Quote:
People love the show's mystery, but the mystery works only if you care about the characters caught up in the middle of it. That's where Lost excels. It's the emotion that matters: the pull invoked by Sawyer's sacrifice for Kate, Desmond's reunion with Penny, and hard as it may be to believe, Ben's exile from the island. Like all of TV's best series, Lost makes us think we know these people, and has attached us to them.
SyFy Portal
Quote:
Sawyer's character evolution from a low-life con man to a man willing to perform a selfless sacrifice was the highlight of the episode. Despite the gunfights and explosions, redemption is a tough act to beat.
CASKET CASE - New York Post
Quote:
Among the highlights last night:

* Early in the episode, Sawyer - seemingly among the "safe" group with Jack, Kate, Sayid and Hurley aboard the helicopter headed off the island - sacrificed himself to save the others. When the 'copter sprung a fuel leak and needed to lose weight to make it back to the freighter, Sawyer jumped from the whirlybird. He swam back to the island and was with Juliet when the island disappears.

And now, a special note to James Ford:

Dear Sawyer,

It was a crime that there was no Sawyer-centric episode this season, but you made up for it in spades! You were home free. The look on Hurley's face when Frank said the chopper was about 200 pounds too heavy spoke volumes. I know you knew that. You also saw the look on Kate's face. I now know you love her more than Jack does. I apologize for thinking he and Kate make the better couple. It should be you two. Your jumping out of the helicopter into the ocean to save the others was the noblest thing I may have ever seen in my life.

Your newest fan,

The Grizz

Jack's lack of a reaction to this heroic gesture seemed terribly ungrateful, and made him look like a real deuschebag. So did his unyielding "leader" conversation with John back at the Orchid. And a lot of other stuff he's been doing lately. What's up with my hero? Dr. Shephard is in serious need of some redeeming. Hopefully he will.

Sawyer made his selfless leap to the ocean to keep the helicopter light enough to fly, planting a classic action-hero kiss on Kate's mouth before jumping out.

7. Sawyer and Kate kissed spectacularly!

<!--[if !supportLists]-->

Are shirtless Sawyer and pretty Juliet going to mandatorily have to hook up now? Because, in the immortal words of Ana-Lucia Cortez, "She's hot. You're hot…Plane crash...Nice beach...It's what people do."
The Watcher - All TV, all the time | Chicago Tribune | Blog
Quote:
Theory alert: Any episode of "Lost" featuring shirtless Sawyer is a worthwhile episode of "Lost." That can redeem a subpar episode and make a pretty good episode better. Yes, I'm shallow.

My brother pointed out that helicopter scene between Kate and Sawyer recalled “Lost in Translation.” The Kate-Sawyer version: “Lost in Pacific.”

As promised, the finale in less than 25 words: "Ben bad. Ship explode. Locke in charge. Kissing couples. Sayid fists of fury. Shirtless Sawyer. Helicopter crash. Island gone. Locke in coffin. Plus bunny!"

Speaking of Sawyer, that phone call that Kate got late in the episode, I’m sure before I even post this someone will have figured out what was said. Was it something said by Sawyer – but backward?

Sawyer sacrificed his spot on Lapidus' chopper to make it lighter to save fuel. But before he jumped into the drink, he tasked Kate to execute an errand for him in the real world — presumably, I think, checking on his daughter, Clementine — and then planted a big kiss on her. And now we know why the ladies love Sawyer. As an added bonus, when he returned to the Island, he emerged from the surf sans shirt. (The yin to this yang: plenty of Kate cleavage shots for the guys.)

Juliet stayed behind to help everyone get to the freighter — then had a front-row seat on the beach to watch it blow up. Last seen chugging rum with shirtless Sawyer. You sense a setup for romance next season?
'Lost' Has Yet Another Great -- And Shocking! -- Finale | TV Talk
Quote:
I admit I had a small lump in my throat when Sawyer sacrificed himself by jumping out the helicopter so Lapidus could conserve fuel. Sawyer whispered something to his true love Kate, planted a nice, big wet one on her (Kate and Sawyer sure have some sizzling kissing chemistry, don't they?) and then hurled himself into the ocean like only a real manly man would. If you're gonna show your undying love for someone, hell, that's the way to do it. Now, we all know Sawyer's still alive, but Kate doesn't know that and probably believes he's dead.

5. Sawyer Jumps Out Of The Helicopter: I love that Sawyer has been redeemed, but hasn’t lost his bad boy edge, at least not yet. I’m sure there’s some nerd out there right now, extrapolating the sound from that scene so we can hear what Sawyer whispers to Kate. Also, I am going to be buggin’ out if they put Sawyer with stupid Juliet next season. Just because you’re stuck on the now-moved island together, doesn’t mean you need to bone, you two.

On the other hand, Sawyer's self-sacrificing jump into the water—after making his unheard request to Kate—was a great moment, and further convinced me that Kate is mooning over the wrong guy in the future. (So is Sawyer now Juliet's consolation prize?) And Des and Penny—aw! [Melts into puddle.] Oh, and a nice small moment when Sun tells Michael she's pregnant and he smiles and congratulates her; I'd forgotten the connection they'd had.
Cynthia Littleton On The Air: "Lost": "There's No Place Like Home," Parts 2 and 3
Quote:
**Sawyer pulls the Charlie card of selfless sacrifice. He did it so well. I think I know what he whispered in Kate's ear just before jumping out of the plane -- must've been some info about his darling Clementine. Which might explain the errand that Kate ran on his behalf months (years?) later when she's back in L.A. And why that errand pisses off Jack so much -- no one is supposed to know that Sawyer didn't die right away in the crash.

No problem. It's nice to see people seeing in Sawyer what we've all see from the very beginning.
I'm sure there are some dark and gloomy days ahead of him now, but it's too early to start worrying.

ETA: I guess I have nothing better to do.

‘Lost’ Season Finale Recap: A Real Humdinger! -- Vulture -- Entertainment & Culture Blog -- New York Magazine
Quote:
Emotionally, it was shallow yet satisfying: Desmond/Penny, happy for those crazy kids; the Sawyer jump was powerful, until you realize he survives. Only Jin's death really hit hard — but that was all we needed.

There's some Jack/Kate/Sawyer. Sawyer calls Frank "Kenny Rodgers." The Oceanic Four fly toward the freighter but lose gas and have to dump everything heavy off the helicopter (Hurley looks worried), and then — wow, Sawyer whispers to Kate, gives her a great kiss, and then sacrifices himself, which is both sexy and sad, except if you're recapping and have already revealed that he lives.

Sawyer swims up to the beach and finds Juliet drowning her sorrows: She saw the boat explode. (Prediction for next season: Sawliet!)

What did Sawyer whisper to Kate? Was it the same thing Bill Murray whispered in Lost in Translation?
