I just watched the ep and I actually got through the whole episode without going to the kitchen or turning it off. Shocker!!! lol.

No a bad ep this time. Everybody got a fair amount of screentime as opposed to having to endure the Jack or Ben show. Although when they had that montage at the beginning where the families were reunited... 2 seasons ago I would have gotten a little weepy. That sort of doesn't happen anymore. But apart from that, it was well done.

But, what's with all the mothers of the survivors that were on deaths door the last time we saw them suddenly are the picture of health? First Kate's mom, now Claire's. Bizarre.

If Jack says sonofvabitch one more time, I'm going to do something drastic. Lol.

Welcome Rose! I'm Francesca.
I hope you'll enjoy posting here and chat about Josh with us, this is a very friendly forum and we have a lot of discussions going on about Josh and his role in Lost. Louise has already re-directed you to the Introduction thread and the Info Center, for any question or doubt you can always PM one of us.

I watched the episode earlier... and I liked it. It has been a while since I've said this without any big reason to complain for the storylines or the writing. (I have some, of course , but all in all, the episode was pretty enjoyable).

Being the finale it featured bits of all the characters and that felt nice, even if the amount of screentime for each of them wasn't much. Sawyer was only in two scenes, but I liked both, he showed once more his protectiveness towards his friends, and even after Jack has been pretty harsh for no real reason, he went after him saying "You don't get to die alone". Long gone seem the days of "every man for himself". At the end of the episode Jack and Sawyer find Lapidus in the elicopter and learn from him where Keamy & co. are headed, Sawyer realizes Hurley is in danger and he and the doc start walking towards the station.

Kate and Sayid are being led there by Richard and the remaining Others, so in the second part of the finale there is going to be some nice reunion that will finally tell us how the Orchid can move the island and in which (hopefully very graphic and painful) way Keamy will die.

In the flashforward, I squeed for about 10 minutes straight seeing Sayid reunited with Nadia. It won't last long, but they got to be happy and together for a short while and that's more than I was hoping for as closure for that storyline.

Sayid and Sun are the characters that made the FF part worth watching in this episode, to me at least - I LOVED Sun bitchslapping her dad. YAY! She bought part of his company with the Oceanic settlement right under his nose and told him loud and clear how she plan to have her baby, and then they'll made plans for their company.

I also loved the scene on the beach with Sayid, Juliet and Dan, great interaction. Basically in this episode all the characters are working together and there are a lot of "reunions", all nice notes in the built-up for the finale of the season - like Jin and Sun with Michael on the freighter, Micheal telling them how she's trying to help and make up for his past actions. Jin didn't break his neck when he first spotted him so if Mikey stays on the island there is hope to recreate some kind of bond imo, lol!

Lately I've been liking even Ben, which comes as a surprise to me. I don't mind him when he's not taking 80% of the available screentime.

My main reason to complain about this episode is once again how much they expect us to ignore logic with the Aaron storyline. So the whole world knows now that he's Kate's son and he is 5 weeks old, at the time of the press conference.
She was six months pregnant when she boarded the plane and gave birth on the island. So, a federal criminal, escorted by a marshal, boards the plane (and I doubt you can hide a baby bump when you're at that point with the pregnancy) and there is no mention of her conditions, anywhere. and Jack mentioned at the trial her "heroic" actions, saving people and finding food and water for anyone - Kate is not just an heroine, she's freaking Wonder Woman.

I mentioned how "choral" the episode felt, in pure finale fashion, but there is one exception to that and it's Jack, who managed to turn every moment in something about himself. He has the "responsibility" for Sayid and Desmond being with the freighters dudes, he has "promised" to his people to get them off the island, he knows that his father would hate an eulogy so the speech he's giving at Christian's funeral is "not for my father, it's for me"...?! I get what they're trying to show me, but what I wonder is how Jack can feel so ok with himself right after the rescue - yes, he left the island, he kept his promise, but he only "saved" 6 people.

Where were the authorities when Kate got off the plane? She is a fugitive, right?

Anywho...not a bad episode. It was pretty much a set-up for the rest of the finale. Now those two hours I am very anxious for!

Oh, and Sayid/Nadia reunion. It was perfection.

Lost has asked us to suspend our belief several times, but the level they reached with Kate, and Kate and Aaron in this episode and in Eggtown, is a new record.

Some moments that deserve to be remembere:

The O6 families! Kate had no one waiting for her but the officer in the background was put there just to scare her a bit and make her believe at least the local police cared to see her again.

Sayid adopted by the Reyes family ♥

Kate being torn between soothing Aaron and sniffing the Cool Water cologne Sawyer switched to in S4.

Daniel & Charlotte - soooo doing it in S5. Mark my words.

Sun, she was not just super pretty in this episode, she was in full PWNage mode on.

I don't think I've mentioned this before ... how beautiful looked Sayid and Nadia together?! Even during Christian's funeral, I was thinking "Look how adorable they are!! Jack, I couldn't care less that you're hurting but thanks for giving me another S/N scene".

I want to ask you something... was I the only one who laughed hard when right after Jack's said "Son of a bitch", they cut to the photo of Christian?
Ok... only me then.

The fast nationals had it at 11.40 million viewers. 3rd lowest rated of the season. The numbers may change slightly with the final rating tabulation. The Jate fest episode still holds the honor of least viewed episode this year (which may turn out to be the lowest rated episode in the entire series). Until next year.

SNBH was 11.14
Cabin Fever 11.30
TNPLH 11.40
