They aren't officially a couple, but Lost's Sawyer and Kate generate a ton of heat with their spark-filled love/hate attitudes. This unbeatable romantic tension will have to be addressed sooner or later — the island isn't that big. And after the thieving Kate gave the tortured troublemaker one of the hottest kisses of all time, another may send an S.O.S. to Sawyer's heart.

"I try to analyze the situation as realistically as possible and I can only see Kate and Sawyer growing closer from what's happened. If Sawyer gets back to the island, they should have a new sense of value in each other. They say if you love something, let it go, and then see what happens from there. Not only did they break physically, but they really broke ties emotionally before they left. You see them both gazing out across the beach before they left, looking for each other, so they clearly play a significant part in each other's lives. Lost Spoilers: Not in Portland - Episode Info

On Wednesday night, ABC delivered screeners of the return episode of Lost, which is to air on Feb. 7, to TV critics here in Pasadena. The disc came in an unmarked brown envelope ...

In an attached cover letter, the network says: “We kindly ask that you use your discretion in reviewing this show by not revealing any plot details that contain spoilers,” and of course I’ll respect that.
Within those confines, here’s a glimpse at the next Lost hour:

The episode begins off the island.
The line between Others and Losties is becoming increasingly blurred, rather like the racial divide that quickly crumbled in this season’s Survivor.
Episode title: “Not in Portland,” and I’m pretty sure they mean the one in Oregon.
Juliet has a sister.
First word of the episode: “Hello.”
Episode’s opening segment is action-packed, as Kate and Sawyer race through the jungle on their escape attempt. The attempt takes a few detours and even involves a hatch, though not a very big one.
The two-islands-or-one question is answered definitely.
One-liner from Sawyer: “Nice to meet ya, Sheena.”
The Others’ island could use a decent anesthesiologist -- maybe they could offer one of those “We’ll pay your tuition if you promise to practise here for five years” deals.
My boyfriend’s captive, and there’s gonna be trouble.
Now playing on Screen One at the Others Island Cineplex: an extremely weird psychedelic flick that’s pure torture to watch.
The wonderful character actor Zeljko Ivanek, who was a wicked Serb on Season One of 24, the slimy governor on Oz and a noble prosecutor on Homicide, shows up in this episode.
“The sky turned purple”: What was that all about?
Kate and Jack share a tender moment, and it’s easily the emotional highlight of the episode.

The main question with Lost has become, Is it going forward or in ever-deeper loops? This one goes forward into uncertain territory, and it makes you want to know what comes after. If you’re a viewer who has grown tired of the series’ matrushka-doll structure and are wondering whether it’s worth the bother to keep watching, I’d say yes, keep watching.

Spoiler:

I think the emotional Jate moment is definitely the walkie talkie scene from the promo. No doubt it'll be emotional. Jack is telling her not to come back for him. I don't think any of us expect Kate to accept that without some tears. And I'm actually looking forward to it. The final J/K scene before we get an abundance of Skate? I'm all for that.

The only new information here is that Spoiler: Juliet has a sister and there's a movie--another Dharma orientation flick? But considering the revelations we should be getting--Ethan is Juliet's brother/cousin/lover/husband/Dharma recruiter! Juliet shoots Pickett/Alex/Tom/Vincent! Juliet is Good/Evil/other/Dharma/shipwreck survivor! Ben lives/dies/sits up and sings "I will survive!--I'm thinking this is a foiler.

I agree, the scene has to be that one.

And it doesn't scare or upset me. Yep, she is romantically with Sawyer now, but it doesn't mean she has to act out of character to prove that over and over again, and leave Jack behind without a huge reaction would be totally not-Kate. She cares for Jack a lot, everybody knows he's one of the people she has spent more time with and shared a friendship, even believed she could start something deeper sometimes in the past. And don't forget that he's just saved them, he put his life on the line to give an escape chance to her and Sawyer, and now he's stuck with a bunch for crazy people capable of pretty much everything. And if I recall right (someone wrote that somewhere) darkufo has Jate preferences, so that could count in his description of the "tender" scene between Jack and Kate.

I just hope people don't start questioning Kate's feelings again like 'I Do' and the triangle resolution never happened: I'm talking about the general audience here, because maybe I would be a bit worried as a shipper if I didn't listen to the last two podcasts (the confirmation of the "I love you" and of the choice).

Kate's love for Sawyer will always be questioned until she utters the words. People are that literal minded. And even then I reckon some bizarre claim will still arise in its wake. The naysayers just love to nitpick at everything.

Demy, they could be foilers, but it sounds quite plausible to me. I guess we'll just have to wait and see.

I'm not worried for this 'jate tender momen' I' pretty much sure it's the one we saw in the promo . I remember that when D&C in the podcast about EMFH when they say ' Yes kate love sawyer' they reported all the line of the script and only on 'KATE LOVE SAWYER' they add " ? they are joking?'
Or when Josh in the interview with Kristin told her that he don't wanna get the girl ,dark ufo suddenly put as a spoiler' KATE DOESN'T CHOOSE SAWER'

The only part that could make me think about a foiler is the

"Nice to meet ya, Sheena" line from Sawyer, because he's already used that nickname for Kate in The Long Con. But it could just be the writers not having a lot of imagination about new popular culture references. -_- The nickname fits Alex perfectly, though. The rest sounds plausible, but it's true that the spoiilers reveal only a few things we didn't know already because of promos/interviews.

Well, Sawyer has reused nicknames before. It's not unusual. I do think it's legit spoilers. I didn't know darkufo was a huge Jate fan though. That explains the "easily most emotional moment" comment in reference to the J/K walkie talkie scene. Either way, Kate has chosen Sawyer and is still leaving Jack behind. Let's not forget why she's fleeing in the first place: to save Sawyer's life. He comes first.
