I just noticed that the flower smilies next to the ship name at the top of the page are absolutely perfect.

I look at the title of this thread and realize that I'm still processing the fact that the writers went for something so big as an ILY exchange in Sawyer and Juliet's first episode together. I'm a natural pessimist so that was... overwhelming. And still, I think it didn't sound forced or weird at all in light of all the previous scenes.

maaaan, when Juliet said I love you to him I screamed as hell, but I was like no way he won't say I love you back, but HE.SAID.IT awwwwww

it wasn't forced at all. we have to keep in mind that they've been together for
THREE years, it's not three days, three months, but three YEARS.
so it's totally normal for them to act like that and say stuff like that

I was too stunned to form coherent thoughts in that moment, after Juliet said it, but for a split second I thought - he's going to kiss her back and that's it.
I just imagined the writers would play the ambiguous/safe card (they're masters at that), and instead... !!!

I watched the episode live (the Canadian preview). And then rewatched it when it aired in US.

I had the biggest smile on my face at the end of the night.

The three years thing is very important to me. I'm glad the writers didn't come up with some time travel trick and made the time the Left-Behinders spent on the island be way shorter than how much the O6 stayed on mainland.
