Hey girls.

Yep, it's been a busy week - it's the last week of school. Swim parties, yearbook sales, report cards, assemblies - we even squeezed in a field trip. But I will be glad to see this school year end. I'm going to try rally hard not to spend all my time online this tim.

We went to Disneyland for the 6th graders end-of-the-year trip a few weeks ago, and when we were in line for the Star Tours ride (it's a motion simulation ride), I pointed out the word "Hoth" and said it was part of one of the episode titles, thinking no one would care and everyone would think I was a nut. Instead one of the other teachers gasped and started rambling about the finale, and then we were both squeeing, so excited to find someone else to discuss it with. We chatted the entire wait in line, and even when we got on the ride we were still discussing it. And even as it was throwing us up and down shaking and rolling, we were still discussing the show. What other show affects fans like that, I ask you? I am so gonna miss it when it's gone.

Good luck with the job, Fran - I'll be sending positive thoughts your way. What kind of communications do they do? That's a pretty good field to be in these days - it might offer a lot of opportunities for you.

How about a compromise - spend the evenings at your parents' house and sleep there, and then spend the days with your sister, out and about, away from the cat?

oh I know what you mean.. Lost is amazing to discuss about I can spent hours talking about Lost
and I know that ride, I couldn't talk about that in there because I would be the one throwing up in there

I'll try that I guess... the only problem is that my sister likes to sit at home too... she's not really into doing activities ...
I guess I have to hope for my friends to entertain me

You deal with children - basically, you're a sort of strong-willed and stoic soldier in my eyes because I would go crazy with such a job. Glad the end-of-the-year frenzy is over, and now you can relax.
Internet is evil, and in my case it's not helping to stay away from the computer the fact that we're having a very rainy June here.

Isn't it great to find someone who watches Lost to talk with in real life? It's so rare for me to experience that, I have my best friend but he's more of a casual/detached viewer so often he doesn't get why I can be so passionate about a storyline or a character. A while ago I mentioned it a continuity error (Aaron crying when Sawyer approached Claire's tent, while his voice had a soothing effect on the kid in S1) and he was like, silent for a couple of seconds looking at me like I wasn't too normal. LOL
Lost isn't super popular here in Italy and that doesn't help either. Plus, most of the times I'm one season ahead of my friends because they wait for the dubbed episodes to air.
Did your friend liked the finale, who are her favorite? I'm always curious about this kind of things with not-fandom viewers.

That's a local tv station. A small one because there is nothing too cool around here, lol.

Thanks a lot for sharing! I'll watch the second part as soon as I recover from the first.

Argh! I'm so sorry about that. And your sister should know better, allergies are a serious matter. I'm allergic to dust, it's not bad now that I've grown up but when I was little I almost risked dying because of it and it was annoying when I mentioned that in school and everyone laughed.

I even insult it aloud, poor thing. In the end we always patch things up, though.

I read that Elizabeth will be a guest at Comic Con for the V panel! Our wish come true!

I also have allergies to most of the plants that grow out in the nature it doesn't always go well with me and my adventures ... but I'll just have to endure it because I love being outside... the medication works fine most of the days... today somehow it doesn't help... the cats really got me last night
sometimes people don't really understand allergies unless they have it themselves or they see you suffering

If you can pop in from time to time, it would be nice to know if everything is going well with your visit home.
I really hope you will fly back to USA happy and recharged.

That's true, but one thing is friends and random people, another is your family.
But animal lovers often forget the not so pleasant side effects of having pets around.
And it sucks that you're allergic to plants too. Do you have problems only in certain periods of the year or all the time, at different degrees?

V is really getting a lot of promotion. Hopefully it's a good sign.

Have you read this:
Lost Series 1 Jack & Kate, Sawyer & Juliet Action Figure Set - Bif Bang Pow! - Lost - Action Figures at Entertainment Earth

I wonder if the figure will resemble the originals, these toys really come out pretty.

yeah... hate allergies... I'm glad it's only certain times... in germany it's from March to the end of June and here in the US it starts at the end of May and it hasn't stopped yet so I guess I have a few more weeks until it dies down

The first video had the saddest part at the beginning, the second delivered the emotional punch at the end... hearing Sawyer sob right at the end.
Really liked all the quotes with their real voice that you put in the clip, with these two videos you covered their whole journey.
Beautiful work Karin.

I can safely say nothing has ever got to me like Juliet's death. The only other thing that came close to it was Sawyer in The Brig, but knowing that he overcame that pain makes the pill sweeter to swallow, with Juliet the smallest mention of the finale hits me like a ton of bricks.

I understand you being eager to have the second part of July here because there is really nothing around now. We've gotten some sightings of Josh, it would be nice if we got some of Elizabeth as well, just to know what she's up to before the filming for V starts in August.

I don't want to sound rude toward your sister, I would never do that, but she sure can take a trip to your parents' to be with you without any fear that her cat make your allergies worse. You deserve some special attentions and privileges considering the situation, and a trip back from the US is a big deal if you ask me.
Quote:

True, although I hate to buy memorabilia and merchandising, but Lost is also my weak spot fandom wise. I wonder if Sawyer and Juliet will be in their Dharma jumpsuits or "civilian" clothes.
Quote:

True. As I told you a while ago, if Juliet is dead this state of uncertainty is only preventing us from fully dealing with that and grieving the character.
If only we had gotten any hint at where the next season would be going... but the finale's cliffhanger was as open as possible.

And at last, a moddish note - you know how this board is very free and lighthearted, but that should never make us cross the line. In the past we have commented on some opinions coming from another thread from another board, and although we tried to focus on the topic of it that involved Sawyer and Juliet, we shouldn't have taken that route at all. I am to blame for it and I apologize to all of you here, from now on we'll make sure to stay more on topic and only discuss our own reflections.
