That's what I think... and I mean they started out as friends... having each others backs and supporting each other... that never changed... they just developed more feelings for each other during the long run... so many people see that there is something between those two... I mean ok, we didn'T get hot sex in a cage but well that relationship didn't get really far... but we got a real relationship... something mature that could last forever... if it wasn't on a show like lost

When there are such big things at stake, a couple stick together like James and Juliet did, imo it was pretty realistic.
to me it was too... but I guess we have to just accept that not everybody feels the same way... I guess I can do that... but I really think they genuinely loved each other

I have no idea if Rachel and Julian will come up again. It all depends on their plans for Juliet and honestly she could come back for an arc of a few episodes, or be dead and appear for 5 minutes as Jacob or a ghost.
For now I'm just hoping Sawyer will honor her memory in some way, because I can't bring myself to hope for a scenario where she is alive.
If anyone got to go back on mainland, it would be a poor consolation but better than nothing to let Rachel and Julian know how much she loved them, and why she never came back.
If my wish doesn't come true then i expect at least Sawyer to recognize her in some ways... talk about her... and if he ever gets off the island I want to see him go to Rachel or at least say that he went...

It's very handy to have all the clips in one video, I'll add it to my YT favs.

If their relationship was supposed to mean nothing for the characters involved, or for our perception of them, there wasn't the need to write them in love and living together.

I don't doubt their love for a minute. I respect those who think differently, of course. If there is something I hate are people who try to push their opinions on me like they had found the one and only The Truth.
Ships are subjective, probably they're one of the most subjectives things ever when you watch a show.

I think Juliet deserves it. And I hope the writers have learned their mistakes with Charlie - people were pretty loud about Claire, Hurley and everyone being all happy and cheerful just a couple of days after he had died.
TPTB better show some respect for Juliet's sacrifice.

That's what I think too, but maybe they were just fooling us...

yeah they don't know the real truth... and everyone can have their own views... I really think they don't understand Sawyer when they don't except that he can be in love with somebody else

I really really hope they don't show us that everybody is fine if she's really dead... they can't be happy after that

I think everyone can argue about the degree of intensity of Sawyer's feelings for Juliet, but IMO you can't argue that he loved her, implying that all the times he expressed his feelings he was lying. Both James and Jules, after everything they had gone through before finding themselves stuck in the 70s, are NOT the kind of people who would simply find refuge in a relationship they don't care about because they have nothing better to do to kill their spare time.

If they have to make Sawyer move on, at least they must introduce a time jump.

He definitely loved her... you can see it in the last episode and in almost all the episodes before that... they had 3 years to get to really know each other and they noticed that they both have been through a lot... didn't even Elizabeth mention in one interview that 2 people that both had to struggle are more likely to fit together... I think it was something like that and I really think that's totally true... because they learned on the way and can now appreciate being loved....

I really really hope he doesn't move on at all... at least not with somebody on the show....

Yes, Elizabeth mentioned how it's usually shared pain what brings people together and make for strong bonds/alliances.
And Josh mentioned how the con turned into a reality for Sawyer, a reality that has been been better than anything he's experienced until that point.

That's my wish, as well, but you know I wear my pessimist/skeptic glasses all the time, so I'm going for the "lesser bad".

So even the actors think that it fits... that really has to mean something... ok they had to sell it and I think they did... and the polls show that they did well...
I have to rewatch the interview with Josh because I was a little distracted when I saw it... I didn't catch everything

Do we add the link to the EW video with Josh talking about S/J to the OP? We should put there the clip of the Lost podcast, too.

Josh is always very polite when he talks about Lost and the storylines they gave him, but I trust him when he said that at first he wasn't hot on the idea to go for that relationship at all, and then when he actually shot the scenes and saw how it was developed changed his mind and appreciated the value of it.

The Josh interview was fantastic I copy the Suliet parts:

DJ:"Awesome year for Sawyer and it was great to see that transition. What was it like to play that, to see, kind of like, Sawyer step up and be like this great boyfriend and great leader?"

JH: "Well, at first, it was a little scary, cause I was like, I had gotten comfortable in being a bit of an '***', if you will, and just playing that side of the character, I really enjoyed and I was a little nervous of 'oh no, am I going lose the edge of the character by actually having a relationship and trying to be a leader' and all that sort of thing. So, at first, yeah I was a little nervous about it. But I was also excited to do something different because you're on a show, you get into a rhythm of your character and after awhile you want to explore something different. So, they, the writers, enabled me to do that and it turned out fine, I think. And it was alot of fun working with Elizabeth Mitchell and developing that relationship. What we had three scenes to develop it, I think, so we were a little bit like'OMG, how we gonna sell this in three scenes? Like we've been together and we love each other.' At first that was a little daunting and then once we got into it, it seemed really natural and thank goodness I was working with such a professional, she's so good. That was just a lot of fun to explore, as an actor."

DJ: "And the season finale, of course, goes and breaks our hearts."

JH: "Oh ya."

DJ:"What was it like preparing for that moment? Was that tough?"

JH: "It's funny, those scenes. Yes and no. As life goes on and my life gets more enriched by getting married, having children - I just have a newborn, now - the stakes have risen in my life. So, now it's easier to play a scene, where possibly losing that comes into play. So, that's how I prepared. I have a newborn on the way and I was just thinking, well I had to think, well, what if that was taken away? And, there you go. Roll camera."

Thanks a lot for sharing the transcript of the interview, Caroline!

I'm glad that both Josh and Elizabeth ended up feeling comfortable in playing the romantic storyline of their characters, they sure did a great job with the material they were given.

I think they all talk politely about Lost... I guess they don't want to loose their job
I always talk nicely about my job
and I think everyone was and would be sceptical about James and Juliet being together... everybody was surprised... especially seeing it working out so well was surprising for me

yeah... I didn't even look at the video... I still haven't gotten around to it... I will watch it tonight, I hope

Don't worry, there is no rush!
I haven't been very productive either, and I have had more spare time than you.

Hee, you should read some old Naveen interviews.
But I'm exagerating, he simply was pretty clear about his far-from-happy feelings towards Sayid's lack or a real storyline in S2 and partly S3.

I was already a shipper, and still got shocked when the writers went with that pairing. Shocked in positive, but still shocked.

He also mentions how good it was to work with Elizabeth and what a professional she is. It was a brief chat, but a nice one.

The forum has been acting horribly in the last two days, I tried to post this message at least ten times, and I kept getting a blank page or the "database error" message.

well he didn't have a storyline at all so I guess it's reasonable that he complained about it... Josh and Liz do have a storyline, even if they don't agree on what the writers show they at least have something

I guess everybody was shocked... I almost expected it because they hinted so strongly... but not like this and I was shocked that they made it so real... and not just a fling...

wonder what's going on...
I've been copying most of the longer post I have into a word file... just to make sure I don't have to write it again

I already told you: we'll start putting up the actual opening when we hit page 19, we need the feel the pressure.

I agree about Josh, but if Juliet isn't coming back in any significant way, I would understand Elizabeth if she complained about how her character went off the show. But I also know that Liz is too sweet and polite to ever say anything in public, also all in all Juliet will be remembered as one of the highlights of S5 anyway, mostly thanks to what Liz did with the little material they gave her.

I thought the hints were a con - sometimes being a Sawyer fan makes you too suspicious, we've learned from the master.

It's nice indeed. I also think that in some aspects they are similar so they've gotten along well on set.

I don't know why the server is acting so bad, but I should remember to do the same thing you're doing, saving my post, the longest ones at least, before hitting "Submit".

I think she will get at least a little bit in the next season to make her character get off the show in a really good way... at least I really hope for that... and I'm sure that Liz will never say anything bad about how they handled her character... she just doesn't do that
