*SPOILERS* #64: Exclusive - This thread is back in the business!

Welcome to the
Spoiler Thread

This thread is to collect and discuss all the news, spoilers, rumors and speculations about Josh's upcoming and future projects.

Entertainment Weekly: 'Lost' star Josh Holloway to star in 'Community' finale
EW has learned exclusively that Josh Holloway — who played James “Sawyer” Ford on ABC’s Lost — is in the process of closing a deal to make a cameo in Community’s two-part season finale. It’s set for May but no date has been announced.
Holloway’s character will emerge as a mysterious figure who shows up on campus during another game of paintball. The two-parter is a sequel, of sorts, to “Modern Warfare” — last year’s memorable episode that began with the Dean announcing a prize for a game of paintball. It devolved into campus-wide battle.

February 25, 2011
TVLine: Community's Return to Warfare: Exclusive Intel!
But don’t expect a carbon copy of Season 1′s smash hit. Sources close to the show tell us that while they expect fans to identify the episode as a sequel to the first installment, it is meant to be its own entity with a much different premise — à la not the same half-hour “action flick” we laid witness to last year.
This time around, the paintball war is not at all what it seems; there’s a bigger conspiracy afoot. The colorful game is much larger in scope, while the two-parter’s final twist is just too, too good to spoil.
We can reveal that Alison Brie’s Annie is central to the story — after all, poor thing was offed too soon in the original! — and will even face off against her very own nemesis, a student who happens to model herself after Greendale’s goody-goody. But don’t worry, the rest of the study group et al is involved in the fun, too.
As of now, NBC plans to air the new, yet-to-be-titled round of “Warfare” as an hour-long event, but there is still a small chance the network will parse it out over two weeks.
Side note: Check out the faux-news ticker scrolling the bottom of the screen during the February 24 episode. There may have been an Easter egg or two.

Friend: Elizabeth Mitchell?
Me: no no! guess again! (thinks: wow pretty good guess though)

Friend: WHAT?! NOOOOOOO. REALLY!?

(20 minute convo about the hotness of Joel McH and Josh H. being the same screen together followed)
I had a similar reaction, although the first 5 minutes were spent in disbilief thinking this was some kind of hoax - it was that unexpected.
And your friend knows you well!
The first thing that came to my mind thinking about Jeff and Josh walking around Greendale is a jealous Chang. Or the Dean. Or both.

I checked all the fake news alerts that passed on screen during the last episode, and these are all the complete one:
- Professor Slater still missing.
- "No paintball this spring" claims Dean. Students protest.
- Starburns: "My name is Alex."
- Human Being mascot: offensive to animals? More at 8.
- School dance rate down 200%.
- Reports continue of mysterious "air vent monster".
- Dean suggests end of year picnic, implies "western theme."
- Dr. Ian Duncan quits drinking again.
- Tickers: do we watch them? Story at 12.
Western theme confirmed, then.

AHH FRAN! I LOVE THAT BANNER.

I'm praying that Jeff and Josh's character dress up as cowboys. Southern drawls wouldn't hurt either.

*fans herself* Just the thought.. of it.. I can't.. even.

That's why she's my best one.

Here are a few more tweets mentioning Josh from Danny and Alison:

Danny:

Yes, @Josh_Holloway is at Greendale and the dude rules. Wish I had some Dharma Beers here to crack open with him.
Alison:

THANK YOU #Community fans for making Jeff&Annie E!'s #1 TV Couple!!! (sorry for the delayed gratitude...distracted by Josh Holloway's abs)
I don't blame her

A pic of Josh with Chevy Chase! Dan Harmon tweeted it to Damon Lindelof and said "can we keep him?"!

I think so.
Even more after this tweet from MegMasters who was on set last night:

Yessir, I'm on the set of #Community for its un-be-liev-able paintball-filled finale. Wish you could all see this set...and the costumes!

ETA: I didn't even notice it until I read the comments under Josh's photo with Chevy Chase - Chevy has a cowboy tie on. Definitely sounds like there will be western elements in the finale.

"special hell" is the most fitting term!!! It sucks to hear you are there as well Well, sadly most of the time it´s a complete bore....

Umay! Great to see you here as well

Hey, I just remembered that we still have that old plan to open a bar in some exotic place in play. It was supposed to be me, you and Misty in Hawaii, but everyone else who wants to join the adventure and suggest a different destination now that we can't stalk the Lost set anymore, feel free to - the more, the merries.

From E! online:

Community Finale Scoop: Josh Holloway vs. Joel McHale in a Sergio Leone Gunslinger Showdown?

In case you haven't heard, Lost star Josh Holloway (that's Sawyer, yo!) is guest-starring in the season finale of NBC's cult-hit comedy Community as a "mysterious stranger." Now, when we add up the fact that producers teased a "Sergio Leone homage" for the finale and the fact that finale is a bookend to last year's fan-fave paintball episode, plus this "Wanted" poster from the set, plus Holloway's whole look, we start to get the feeling that Holloway is going to be playing Greendale's own dangerous and elusive Man With No Name. Will he be shooting it out with someone from the study group, most likely Joel McHale's designated alpha male Jeff Winger? Here's what the stars of Community told us about the show's fateful finale:

See, we have this theory about the casting of Josh Holloway; short of Clint Eastwood himself, Holloway's about the only guy around who could possibly be believable as someone cooler than Jeff Winger. Y/N? Says Joel McHale himself, "I agree fully with that theory, because he is cooler than me, just by walking in a room, and Jeff is a little unhappy about it. Or happy about it. Maybe he learns a little something about himself from the experience."

Danny Pudi (universally beloved by cast, crew and press line alike, BTW) agrees with Joel's assessment of the situation, saying, "That's one of the fun things about this episode is that you'll see how Jeff's character reacts—that's probably my favorite thing about the episode. Clearly when this character shows up at Greendale everybody's going to be, 'Wow, who's this new guy?' But the best part is watching Jeff's reaction." Among other things, Holloway may be horning in on Jeff Winger's action with lady friend Britta. Gillian Jacobs tells us, "He's a very handsome man with an amazing bone structure," and confirms, "I have some scenes with Mr. Holloway."

Ken Jeong tells us that the two-part finale (said to be one part spaghetti Western, one part "another genre") is not just a "War Games" knockoff: "They don't duplicate the first one, it's better. It's original. I think calling it a sequel doesn't do it justice—I think it's a companion-piece/bookend, I really do." Pudi expands on that, saying, "It's very different than last year's paintball episode, everything from the costumes to the weapons, even. Everything is stepped up a notch this year. That's another thing too, there's so many characters—you're going to be like, 'Whoa, how many people are involved in this game?' "
Jennifer G. just scored a major positive point with me for this article - gotta give credit when credit is due.

ETA - Also, this bit from Ausiello, although we already knew about it - I'm just excited to be able to post spoilers here again so I'll report anything out there :
Quote:
Question: I know that NBC ordered 24 episodes of Community this season. But does the hour-long finale count as both Episode 23 and 24? I can’t get enough of my favorite study group! —Anders
Ausiello:
Yes, it counts as both 23 and 24. Now let’s talk about something a little more interesting, mmkay? The series is doing a “flashback” episode in which we’ll get to see the whole gang during never before seen Greendale days. However, it won’t be a flashback episode in the traditional sense à la Lost. Also, Josh Holloway’s character in the finale is still being kept top-secret, but I can at least tell you to anticipate a Sawyer-y “Son of a bitch!” along the way.

I don't wanna read any spoilers but I'm so glad that he will say "son of a bitch" I started Community last week, and I hope he has scenes with Gillian and Danny.

I´m still in Hawaii sounds still awesome....I manged to sit through 2 eps of Hawaii-Five-O last sunday when the show premiered here...so not my type of....show. Anyway I just stayed tune for the countryside shots

On the bright side THAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAANK YOU world for making Joshguest star in this show otherwise I´d have never discovered it! I´m loving it. I´m very...how shall I say it, difficult when it comes to comedy. For example never liked shows like Friends (I know I´m weird) yet I like comedy when done well. And this is exactly what I like. It´s not only funny, it´s intelligent fun and wit and I love the pace and the characters are ADORABLE, relatable and I really got into in straight with the pilot. AWESOME show! ANd I´m glad it´s only half an hour long....ok t may be frustrating once I´m done catching up but well....

a Sawyer-y “Son of a bitch!”
I´m in heaven

Thanks for the latest info Fran

Really glad you're enjoying "Community" Alexa. You wanted to get into a new show and it's always nice to see Community gain new fans.
I saw only one episode of Hawaii-5-O and you're right, the island shots were the best part. They reminded me of season 1 Lost when colours on the show were gorgeous.

Fran, you're always nagging Deej about looking for Josh in LA, so that could be the new destination. Don't count on me for stalking though.

Some more articles popped up:

Video: The Cast of Community at PaleyFest, Including Joel McHale, Chevy Chase, and Gillian Jacobs
This is a video where the cast talks mostly about Josh and briefly about other things. Danny about them all wanting to ask Josh about Lost and waiting to see who would do it first; how he wanted Josh to call him Freckles. Yvette about Josh's dimples. Etc.

Community: Modern Warfare Sequel's Western Twist - TV Feature at IGN
Nice article. It covers plenty of stuff, and here's just the Josh part (Danny gives some vague info about Josh's role):
Quote:
Sawyer Comes to Greendale

Lost's Josh Holloway guest stars in the season finale, which caused plenty of excitement from the cast – especially Yvette Nicole Brown ("Shirley"), who was a huge Lost fan from the beginning of that series and couldn't' believe it when, as she put it, "Sawyer came to Greendale… What?!" Added Brown, "Second only to my love for Malcolm Jamal Warner [who plays Shirley's ex-husband Andre] was my excitement for Josh to be on set."

Unfortunately though, the cast were sworn to secrecy on the details of Holloway's character. Said Pudi, "He plays a mysterious character. I was literally given a sheet of paper saying I can't say what he does. Just so you know… I kind of want to say it! But he does play a mysterious character that no one knows maybe where he came from, so it's a very interesting role. And he comes in and the very first line you'll see, holy s**t, this is very… This is another level. Paintball has gone to another level!"
Community Finale Spoilers: "Sexy" Josh Holloway, Paintball and Spaghetti Weste - Today's News: Our Take | TVGuide.com
Quote:
"Josh Holloway is as sexy, as dreamy as you would expect, even more so than he was in Lost I think," Joel McHale told TVGuide.com at Tuesday's PaleyFest tribute to Community.

Holloway, who played Southern rogue Sawyer on Lost, guest-stars on Community's two-part hourlong season finale on Thursday, May 12. "You really get to see his comedic side," said McHale. "He nails it. He's so funny. He was such a good guy, great to have around. I would follow him on to any set and then they would handcuff me and escort me out."

Lost's Josh Holloway recruited for Community season finale

McHale wasn't the only one to express extreme affection for Holloway. "I have a big man crush on him," joked Ken Jeong. "Why, has he talked to you about it? Is he annoyed by the gifts and the poetry? I'm so sorry. Josh, if you're reading this, I'm so sorry for all the gifts and poetry. And I hope you got that fruit basket. I did send you some bacon for no reason. Just make sure it's on dry ice."

Although most of the cast kept quiet about the details of Holloway's role in the finale, Danny Pudi offered a promising teaser: "I can tell you that he's playing a character that is a bada-- in every sense of that word. I think anybody who is a Lost fan — and all of us are Lost fans — will love it. He jumped into our world and fit in immediately, which I think is awesome. His character plays a huge part and is a catalyst to the action in the two-part finale."
