What is Orphan about?
It's a horror movie. It's about this couple who adopts this 9 year old girl that...starts out appearing normal, but really, REALLY isn't.

What did you find odd about it, Eileen?
Well before I get to what I didn't like so much... I'll start with a positive: Kimy is probably my favorite character Btw I'm the type of person who can somewhat ruin a movie for you so read at your own risk Spoilers I guess to people who haven't read?

Anyways for me it wasn't a book that I was really into. Like I didn't experience the "OMG I have to stay up and read 340384 more pages because it's so interesting." Don't get me wrong I liked some parts of the book but Idk... I think in the beginning I was kind of pissed off at the step by step description of what ____ was doing and it kinda started me off in an "eh" sorta way... for example: "I heard someone behind me. I turned around." I cannot stand that.

I still find it awkward when Henry and Clare do the naughty / kiss when he travels back in time I mean I know they're married but the age difference is huuuuuge, so for me, it's still pedophiley

Also I really didn't like the ending. It was just too blah, I expected some fantastical ending that would leave me in tears but all I could think was, "Really? That was it?"

Yeah... That's about it. Don't kill me

I'm curious now. How big was the age difference when he travelled back in time?

See, I felt completely opposite about the book. I couldn't put it down. Although I wasn't a fan of the ending either. I mean, I didn't hate it, but it's too tragic for my liking.

It wasn't a book I couldn't put down either. It actually took me a while to really get into it [the first time I read it, a few years ago]. It also took a few readings for me to like it as much as I do now. And even now, I still don't love it or anything. What I love is the love story of Henry/Clare. Something about how the author wrote it didn't sit well with me. I felt it was too clinical at times, when it could've been way more romantic. Take Clare's 18th birthday, for instance, when she loses her virginity to Henry, that was just so poorly written, imo. I felt it could've/should've been way more romantic, given you wait for that moment so long - and the author gave it to you like that. There was nothing romantic or even sweet about that, for me, whatsoever.

Henry and Kimy are my favorites.

The movie was okay, but it was a huge letdown compared to the epicness of the love story in the book. I didn't like them leaving Kimy, Ingrid, and Jason out either [the latter, just for the storyline]. But oh well. I should be used to that by now. Books ALWAYS trounce the movies.

I don't have the book with me since I just gave it to my friend to borrow but... I think they were around like 23 years apart

Yeah... I hate to think that Clare spent all those years waiting and waiting only to see him for like a few minutes.

I like to think she was able to move on, maybe fall in love again; not to the extent of what she felt for Henry, of course. I thought of the [book] ending like Jack/Rose from Titanic, in that sense.

Does Titanic still make you [guys] cry when you watch it?

I've never cried at Titanic. Does that make me heartless?

It does.

I don't think it makes you heartless Kris. (*sings* How could you be so heartlesssss!) Haha, but yeah, I cry really easily in movies.

Speaking of movies. I saw Iron Man and Alpha Dog! They were both amazing!

No, that doesn't make you heartless, Kris. I didn't cry at The Notebook. In fact, I can't stand The Notebook, lol.

If something's really melodramatic and/or cheesy, it makes me not stand it. IE: The Notebook, for me. Though, that's not the only reason why I can't stand that movie, lol.

Oh man, I absolutely hate cheesiness. Mostly in TV shows. It makes me cringe.
