I think you are right, he's a main character and they need to focus on him too and just not Mcbeth or their characters on their own

I'm hoping that this last change in show runners (and the way that writers have been talking) gives us more Josef. Much as he wasn't the center of Fated to Pretend, he still had a role that fit the storyline. It's just a question of writing more storylines like that.

I've heard he'll be around in at least two of the finale three that we have now. He might be in the other one, too, but just not as prominent.

There was a bit, but not about Chip's departure. More along the lines of "this is where we want to go."

I don't know if there was a mention of who the new show runner would be, but Joel is being more active right now because of the lack of a writer/executive producer.
