Oh, I was talking to the administrator of a Moonlight site (she's the one organizing this con, but given some other issues I don't know how many people are going) about it, but I don't have any specifics now.

The admin of the Buzzwire site wanted to plan an event in October and November? That's ambitious. I saw they had booked Lt. Carl for the October thing, but I wouldn't be surprised if it's like the VM Cruise where if they don't get enough sign ups, they'll have to cancel. I also doubt they'd be able to afford a guest like Jason or Alex, if they're basing only of the money they're making on ticket sales, but who knows? That Moonlight convention that Leeser put on cost $14k for the Westin hotel bill and that's with other people apparently paying for all the 'convention suites' and A/V equipment and a ton of other things, etc and without any guests, so no appearance fees, etc and there were around 175 people for that one. I kind of doubt they'd be making those kind of ticket sales now.

I don't know if the hardcore ML fan will go to a new con anytime soo. With all the drama going on right now.

Two times? Maybe they scheduled for October, but decided to reschedule? I also think Jason or Alex would be hard to afford.

OT, but I would love to organise cons. If I had some financial backing I would totally set up my own convention organisation

No idea whether they rescheduled or not. Maybe Roz knows?

As for conventions, if I was a multi-millionaire, I'd totally fund VM conventions!

Hey so what's the thing run by Buzzwire in November, is this something other than Gala?

Has anyone been announced for it yet?

I think Anita, it was a con at the end of October/beginning of November: Halloween weekend. There is the information. I trust Niki with organizing something more than I do Leeser, and I've met both of them. For one thing, the con is in a suburb of Chicago, which means that the cost of the hotel for the rooms will be lower. But I don't know how many people are going so far.

ETA: The con organized by Buzzwire is the Gala, and so far only Brian (Lt Carl) is attending. That's better than no one at all, to be sure.

(The ML drama going on is something else....)

Hopefully something will pop up. I'm looking forward as usual to all the accounts with the race in December. I'm thinking that might be the next Jason appearance that's probably the most likely.

Cool beans and yeah, I'd trust a 12 yr old more than I'd trust Leeser!

I'm glad Niki seems more normal/sane at least. Having it Chicago should also help prices for her hopefully as well, but yeah, I still don't know if she'd be able to afford the 'big guys' like Alex and Jason.

View topic - Our Second Guest Announcement - It's a biggie!

So it looks like Nikki confirmed Jason is going, which is great news for fans, especially the US ones!

(Not to mention, more picture and candid moment opportunity.) Heh, apparently it was 'confirmed' on Vamp Radio on Saturday or something.

Is the convention definitely on, regardless of how many attendees? If they get the same amount (or more) that Leeser got, they should be able to afford it, I would think.

Roz - since you're friends with Nikki, do you know if it's definitely a 'go' regardless of whether or not they don't sell enough tickets or will it be like the VM cruise, where if they don't get enough interest, they'll have to cancel?

Are you planning to go? I'm already going to BBM and with my work schedule, I don't think I can squeeze this one in...
