Same type thing, but this article has a tiny bit more detail, including producer info:

TV pilot filming in Richmond It's been awhile, but Richmond is again going to be home to a film project.

"Body Politic," a pilot for the CW television network, begins shooting in Richmond next week, said Rita McClenny, film commissioner for the Virginia Film Office.

Minka Kelly, one of the stars of "Friday Night Lights," will star as Hope, who moves to Washington from Michigan. Part of the reason for her move is to reconnect with her father, the new attorney general, played by Tim Matheson. She will work as an aide on his staff.

Also in the cast is Jason Dohring, who was on "Veronica Mars." He will play a Washington Post reporter.

Richmond will replicate Washington. Filming will be at the capitol and in the Fan District.

The pilot will mark a return to Richmond for producer James Spies, McClenny said. Spies has previously produced the Richmond-based movie "The Contender" and television shows "Line of Fire" and "Commander in Chief." -- Daniel Neman

In the new TV Guide there's an article about all the networks and the shows that are on the bubble for renewal. In the CW part, they mention Body Politic (and the fact it stars Minka Kelly and Jason) as a possible to knock out one of the bubble shows (Privledged, Reaper, one other I think). The only other pilot they mentioned was the Melrose Place one so at least its getting some ink. Isn't the Gossip Girl spin off for next season as well?

That's great that it's mentioned in TV Guide The Gossip Girl spin off and the Melrose Place re-make are both potentials for next year, but I would hope they choose one or the other??

Oh wow, I absolutely love Gabrielle Union and I think Jay Hernandez would be perfect as Ben!

I wonder if they've finished the rest of the casting? I would think so as filming is supposed to start in the coming week!

It's definitely great to hear more casting news, especially when it's people that seem like they'd be great on the show! *crosses fingers and toes*

ETA: According to CW's Twitter:

Gabrielle Union, Brian Austin Green and Jay Hernandez cast in the new CW pilot Body Politic.

I didn't know BAG was cast??? That would be effing awesome, but it would be interesting to know what role, as I can't quite picture him on it. Maybe it's a recurring role, rather than a series regular? That doesn't bode well for T: SCC though...

Wow, the cast is really shaping up! Thanks for all the info guys.

I was wondering about Priviledged and Reaper. I actually like both shows but not with any kind of obsessive need.

More details on casting:
Quote:
Winter, spring, summer, fall, it's pilot season and David Silver is keepin' it together.

Though the "Beverly Hills 90210" vet is currently a regular on FOX's "Terminator: The Sarah Connor Chronicles," The CW confirms that Brian Austin Green has just secured a role in their "Body Politic" project.

The series, if green lit, will follow young government staffers living and working in Washington, D.C.

Green will play Lucky, a D.C. insider who knows everyone in town.

The notorious BAG is just one of several names already attached to "Politic" including Gabrielle Union, Tim Matheson, "Friday Night Lights"' Minka Kelly, "Veronica Mars"' Jason Dohring and "Six Degrees"' Jay Hernandez.
I wasn't even thinking about the Lucky Evans role, but now that its mentioned, Brian Austin Green would be great in it. The casting is really shaping up for this show, I agree! Not that I wish for the downfall of T: SCC, but I think BAG has got a lot of buzz going for him again and he'd be an asset to Body Politic if T: SCC isn't renewed and he's able to take the job. I think T:SCC would take up too much time for him to even do a recurring role, but maybe he's good at juggling? Who knows?

Yeah, other than the buzz of SJP as a producer, I honestly think Body Politic has an overall cast that probably has more "buzz" than that of Washingtonienne. Fingers and toes are crossed though!

I put in the information from Korbi in the opening post.

There's also some information at A Dohring Crowd about the show.

I'm pretty sure the XOXO spin-off is already on the list of potential pick-ups. It's got the back door pilot from the actual XOXO episode in May.

The more I hear about the show, the more excited I become so I'm not really sure if that's a good thing or not at this point in time! I don't want to get my hopes up and be disappointed if it doesn't get picked up. But at the same time I don't want to jinx it either. But the stuff posted on A-Dohring Crowd most definitely sounds interesting!

As for shooting, hopefully it all works out. We'll just have to practice patience.
Patience? What the heck is that?!

The premise is sounding more and more interesting.

Spoiler:
And the conlict between Charlie and Hope with his article already has my interest as well. Not sure about a triangle but the fact that there's bound to be some tension is kind of cool. I'm a sucker for that kind of stuff lol

And I have to agree about the cast already being somewhat buzz worthy. And you have to think each of these actors already having built in fanbases. Hopefully that accounts for alot.
