Well seeing as I used to be a HUGE Gilmore Girls fan, I have to admitt, I probably wouldn't have bothered checking the show out as eagerly as I did.
Of cource now I'm all: "Dean Forester who? It's Sam now (and the only Dean I know is the Winchester one)!!!"

true, I adored Jared in Gilmore Girls and it's what made me check out the show and of course, watching Jensen in DA before, but now, I think all their past work/characters will always pale in comparison to Sam and Dean now

tbh, i only know jared because of supernatural

and after i saw him in supernatural i admit i went and watched NYM, cry wolf and some others. lol.

Well I wouldn't recomend to watch Gilmore Girls just for Jared (actually considering the awful turn I felt the show took the last year and a half I wouldn't recomend it period) but some of his S1/S2 episodes are really worth the while.

One episode I'd gladly suggest for people to watch is from S1 "That Damn Donna Reed"
It's quite Dean/Jared heavy and I think he did a really good job with it.

They used to talk so damn fast on Gimlore Girls, I remember the first few episodes of SPN I could actually tell Jared is holding back from speaking in that same pace!

Hmm... I love Rory's First Dance. It's a fantastic episode.

I watched GG because of Jared. I ended up hating it for what they did to Dean.

But then I'm glad it happened, if not Jared will not be Sammy.

That would be my second recomendation from S1 hands down!!!

I didn't watch GG for Jared, but I really liked Dean (S1 through mid S4 at least) and I did hate how crappy they treated the character (throughout his run actually)... and his departure from the show was definitelly bittersweet.

I stopped watching GG when he left so I don't know what happened after Dean.

Personally I was very happy he up and left her like that! He should have done it years before! He should have given up on her long before it got to where it did, IMO.
I never thought she loved him and I always thought she took advantage of how much he loved her, so him just leaving her, everytime? I was totally on his side... everytime!!!
The cheating? Now that I will absolutelly hold him accountable for because in some way I feel he did to Lindsay what Rory did to him...

And him leaving her at the party was okay, considering the way the character had been treated throught the show... his last last episode and his interactions with Luke I thought were totally weird, awkward, uncalled for and definitelly contrived!

Sorry for my GG rant...

As much as I loved the show at some point, looking back, eventually, it was utterly frustratng more often than not!
But hey the rant is Dean/Jared related so I guess I'm somewhat on topic, right?

At some point I do agree with you specially on the leaving her part and the cheating. I just wanted him to have a good closure. He left as if he's still not over Rory and that he was so heartbroken. For me, that was open ended. I agree that he was badly written already before he left. Theu just don't know what to do with his character and how to end it quick.

As for the cheating part, I do feel sad for Lindsay as she's never done anything wrong. Dean should be held accountable for his own mistakes and that was one of them. I think Dean was too blinded by his love for Rory that he forgot about other people loving him. That was wrong though I couldn't blame him for loving too much, especially if Rory has never given him any closure at all.

I agree, he definitelly deserved better closure after everything they put him through...

Then again I recall Jared saying that had SPN not been picked up there was a good chance Dean would be seen again so maybe that's why it was left like that...
Of course it doens't change the fact that it was a total shame and very disrespectful to a character that had been treated like crap and had more than earned a good ending.
Sometimes you have to let character that you like go, if they've run their course, and that is something that I think ASP was never really good at.

If SPN hadn't been picked up, I think it'll be Rory and Dean in the end. (Well, yeah, I'm biased

) But you won't forget your first love, maybe that was why Rory keep coming back to him. Ah, I want a movie now.
