One of the reasons we love the car so much is that it's been the family car forever, since even before Mary's death. It's the one bit of home Dean still had after that night (other than his father and brother).

This is so adorable and yet kind of sad at the same time. It's amazing how everything that Dean holds dear once belonged to John.

that's so true about the attachment to the Impala, it's practically a member of their family, it was there for the best and worst of times with the family, their family car, the memories also

...which kinda makes you wonder why John kept it, sure it's a great car but you'd think he might not want so many memories.

...oh well as long as she's still around.

TAH sounds like such a fun movie and it has a great and bankable cast..I really don't see the problem! Show it already!

The cast is brilliant, no argument there, but I've been reading in the comments of that Lj entry, that the movie has been leaked and the responce hasn't been very positive....

Shame too because as said above: Great cast.

Also from a SPN fan POV and seeing as, if I'm not mistaken, it was this movie that didn't allow JDM to film more "risky-action filled" footage for the S2 finale, and if eventually it wasn't even worth it then extra bummer!!!!

Yeah, good point. But it's understandable, given the circumstances of their growing-up, how John was all Dean really had to hold on to for any sense of security after Mary died.

I do love the idea of John teaching Dean how to take care of the Impala when he was younger.

Just some father-son time with John and Dean, bonding over the car and talking about stuff (stuff that wasn't necessarily about hunting). It's a nice image.

Anita, you didn't know JDM was in that? OMG! IT was the whole reason I watched the movie.

and IMO he saved it, because I found it slow.

but then you have a smiling, singing, naked JDM and things are looking up!
