I get it. I'm totally the same about being respectful and it is a thin line to walk on sometimes.

But I've been here, and specifically around the spoiler section of FanForum, for waaaaay too long and in too deep, I know the small distinctions a little too well by now. I don't know what that says aout me...

Anyhoooo... Back on topic. It's definitelly an interesting development. What do you think? Flashback, or maybe another of Sam's detox-withdrawl visions?

Nothing wrong with that hehe.

Hmm...I'd love if it was a flashback, as I'm a sucker for those. Perhaps it could be how they first met which would show how Sam had to struggle with his family at the time. I'm not sure how it would enhance the overall plot but that's my guess

Though...considering Jared's grown so much from the Pilot to now...it wouldn't seem believable. Haha, I just contradicted myself...and that is how my mind wanders!

A hallucination would be sound good too. And if it was a hallucination, I wonder if Jess would reaffirm what wee!Sam said to big!Sam.

On livejournal, someone wondered if Jess was a hunter. I personally would not like that. It's one thing to hear Mary was a hunter and came from a line of them. But to hear that Jess was one too would just be too much.

I'm so excited about this! I love Jess. I am so curious to see how bringing her back will enhance the plot of Sam's character.

I think it being one of Sam's detox visions makes a lot of sense. Because I was surprised we didn't see her during When the Levee Breaks, I was expecting it. I'm just really excited for this no matter how she comes back! I love Sam and Jess together!

Nothing weird with that. I mean it's too big and too bright a pink elephant in the room to kind of ignore it and it is something that has me conserned too, if indeed it's a flashback. Jared has totally manned up in the last 5 years it's gonna be hard to make him look like that little boy he was in the pilot (and younger!)

I'll be honest, prior to ItB I wasn't a fan of Mary being a hunter in theory (like some specs and AU fics suggested) but the execution really sold me on the idea.
Granted having everyone somehow, being involved with the Supernatural world is a bit of a stretch, and more than a little contrived, but like I said I wasn't sure about Mary and eventually it worked for me, so I don't know, I'll hold my judgement until I actually see it.

But I could maybe see her as a civilian who made a deal, and Yellow Eyes offered her an out or something, if she watched over Sam for him, and she eventually fell in love with him and wouldn't do Yellow Eye's bidding anymore which is why he killed her. (it also fits with him saying "she got in the way")

Having covered the other options I can think of, I have to maintain hallucination is the more likely choice (assuming Sam will be going through some kind of withdrawl again) or maybe it's him having his psychic vissions come back, or also just plain old nightmares with his guilt plaguing him over how much he screwed up the last year...

I think I'll have to go with the hallucination theory, I was expecting her on WTLB, so I'm thinking S5 will still have Sam on withdrawals from the demon blood.

I just love Sam and Jess together so much

I agree, I like how they explained Mary being a hunter. I'd have to say, the scene with young Mary and Dean, and Mary telling him she would hate for her children to be hunters killed me.

Anywho, back to Jess.

The YED theory is really interesting and I would never have thought of it! I also think in the end it might just be a hallucination...I hope the episode is really angsty

I feel like Jess appearing to Sam would cause him a lot of pain, just as he felt a lot of pain when wee!Sam brought her up to him.

Gah, I'm still so stoked Jess will be back!!!! Season 5 can not come soon enough!!!

I have to say I was quite happy she was referenced in the hallucinations, even if she wasn't there....
Because, honestly, I was kinda bummed they picked Maddison as his "ex-fiance" in the IaTL instead of Jess, and when I think Sam/Love/Marriage I tend to think "Jess" by default, so it kinda made up for it. Granted it would have been better if she was actually there, but ya know... take what you can...

I just noticed we're kinda close to a new thread. Only took years
