I cant stand how they always have Cas become a bad guy just when things are going well with him and Dean. I mean, come on! Give Cas a break already. Can he not be happy?

Dean jumps up at Castiel’s voice behind him. He turns just in time to see Cas slide down against the wall to the floor, his trench coat bloodied and torn.

“Cas!” he shouts, running over to him. Cas’s eyes are closed, his brow furrowed in pain. He clutches his stomach, and Dean could see the blood seeping from the wound.

“Cas, no.” His voice is frantic. He’d never heard himself speak this way, not even when Sammy was in danger. The pain in his own voice would startle him if it weren’t for the current turn of events. “Cas, Cas, please no. No!”

He’s taking off his shirt- ripping it off, honestly- as he speaks, the energy of his actions paralleling the panic in his voice. He bunches up his shirt and presses it to Cas’s wound, but Castiel lifts his arm and pushes him away weakly. It would be ineffective if Dean wants it to be. But he can’t tear his attention away from the pain on Cas’s face.

“Cas.” Dean’s voice is broken. Castiel forces his eyes open at that, looking up at Dean. The tenderness in his eyes brings tears to Dean’s.

No. This can’t be happening. There has to be some way-

“There isn’t,” Cas speaks. “I just wanted to see you.”

“Cas, we’re going to fix this,” Dean insists, his voice low and urgent as he tries to stem the flow of blood again.

Cas lifts his other arm and catches both of Dean’s hands in his.

“Cas!” Dean shouts at him. “We’re going to-“

“What if we can’t?” Castiel murmurs.

“No, we can,” Dean says, trying to move but helpless against the angel’s strength. “We can, dammit Cas!”

“I wanted to see you,” Castiel says again. “One more time.”

“Cas, don’t, I’ll get Sammy, we’re going to take care of you, we’ll fix this.” Dean is trying so hard to keep the tears at bay. Tears mean that something bad is real, and this isn’t real, it isn’t.

“Dean,” Castiel says. And something in his voice makes Dean stop. He stops, and calms, and turns his hands outwards to take Castiel’s hands in his. Castiel smiles and grips tight.

“I wanted to tell you,” he says softly, trying to disguise the weakness, “that after…” He takes in a deep breath. “After, I would’ve stayed. With you. Here. I wanted…”

He closes his eyes, and Dean panics, but then the pools of blue are blinking open and looking at him again. “I wanted to be with you. I wanted to-“

Dean grips tight as Castiel’s eyes close again. “Love you,” Cas says as he opens his eyes one last time. “I wanted to love you.”

“Castiel,” Dean whispers. Cas smiles and squeezes Dean’s hands. His eyes close as Dean says, “So did I.”

I don't know anything about future episodes either. I haven't found any spoilers. I just now it's huge because Misha said it.
