Did I miss something, don't shapeshifters have to go through a huge process of shifting to turn into other people? Are they more a powerful bunch that's right off the Alpha?
And I know they are bigger and badder than humans. But how dangerous can they be to other monsters? I need to watch episodes with them again. What are shifter episodes? __________________

It's kind of hard to gauge the episode with the pilot setting up everything so hopefully the first few episode it will get into the grit/action of things.
I originally checked this out for Danielle Savre (Margo) and I want to keep watching it for her so hopefully they get all the back stories set up so I can get a better judgment of the show. I cannot get into the main character guy (the deceased detectives son) His acting is kind of off putting. I'm hoping I will warm-up to him __________________

You know I haven't seen it in full yet. But I kinda hope they do make it into a series. One most of the stuff on the CW is pretty bad. So it would be nice to have another show from the people that brought us Supernatural if it improves. And two maybe if worked on it can improve. It's got some cool characters and actors. And I like the idea of it all. Monsters as mobsters and moving around together in clubs.

yeah. i agree. i wouldn't mind seeing a series of it, and trying out a few episodes to see if it'll really hook me. idk, i just don't think it was as bad as everyone was saying. but that's just me.

I enjoyed the back door pilot. Then watched it again and actually love it.
I had to isolate the fact it's not SPN. Otherwise you can struggle cos you're watching Supernatural to see Supernatural. They have links to work out. But the outline, the concept is awesome. They've got something. They just need to harness it. I like David, like Margo (would prefer a recast but I'll settle) and the hunter guy is cool. Just iron out the cliches. __________________

I really didn't like the episode, so not interested in the spin-off.
I was also confused about the shifters, as I thought they had to pull off skin to change their appearance, or have I missed something? __________________

true, I think they need to work on the continuity of the lores that were in Supernatural, unless they're planning on changing them completely?

the lores should be the same since it's in the same universe... maybe they're a different breed of shifters? and that'll be explained if the show goes to series?

I figured that they are gonna have them be a different kind of shifter. Like the ones that tear of their skin and go through the huge process are like the shifters point 3. And these shifters are more like the alpha where he could easily shift. And they're like shifters point 2.
I think the shifters point 3 in earlier episodes worked for the horror filled of the show. And it was easier for the audience and the boys to tell them apart if they grabbed at them and the skin came off for example. But as the show changed into more of a mythology show I think shifters point 2 works. For the monsters at least, they can be more people easier. It's not some big production, it's probably cheaper to film. __________________

That does make sense. I'm still not a fan of the episode.

Overall I thought the episode was OK but it wasn't one of the best

What I have heard from most people, (I haven't seen it in full yet) that it's more like the CW and less like Supernatural. I guess we have gotten lucky that the CW hasn't mess with Supernatural that much over the years.
