SAM AND DEAN INVESTIGATE MONSTER FAMILIES IN CHICAGO — Sam (Jared Padalecki) and Dean (Jensen Ackles) investigate a case in Chicago, where they discover that various mafia-esque monster families are, unknown to humans, running the underbelly of Chicago. One is a family of shapeshifters run by Margo Lassiter (guest stars Danielle Savre), whose leadership is thrown into question when her brother David (guest star Nathaniel Buzolic) returns home. The other reigning family in town is made up of werewolves, lead by Julian Duval (guest star Sean Faris). While in Chicago, Sam and Dean meet Ennis (guest star Lucien Laviscount), a man with a personal vendetta against the monsters. The Winchesters warn Ennis about heading into the hunter lifestyle, but Ennis refuses to listen and starts down a dangerous path. Robert Singer directed the episode written by Andrew Dabb (#920).

Scary looking guys! Shifters! Aww…that’s so romantic!! omg! Crazy!! I knew that was Sean Faris! Sam and Dean!! Dean saying that about monsters….crazy! stop talking…I need action! And more Sam/Dean!! Finally Sam and Dean are back! I am not liking the plot line or the acting at all! Sam giving him the talk! Yay…Sam and Dean are back! Wow…this is painful to watch…so bored. At long last…action…for now. Funny Dean no more…I can’t take anymore…this is bad! Metatron mention! All kinds of bad…just horrible….

I haven't seen it yet, but I like the concept of monster mob families.

God it was like Vampire Diaries or something with the odd Winchester cameo. I thought it was bad. It definitely shouldn't have "Supernatural" in the title, since I guess it's only there to steal dedicated fans over to a new part of the franchise. Yuck.

finally saw the episode! it definitely wasn't the best "pilot" that i've ever seen. there are a lot of issues to get through if it goes to series... but in all honesty, it could be good Ennis seems like a really interesting character. I liked David and liked looking at sean faris

i hope if it goes to series that some changes are made.

I watched the episode and yeah, it wasn't the best pilot, but I think if it does go to series and if they tweak a couple of things, it could be good. The most likeable character there was David (Nate!), not even the male lead Ennis

I understand that there wasn't a lot of Sam and Dean, but I miss them every time they're not on screen

We'll see if this pilot does become a series, I'll give it a chance for a couple of episodes if it'll hook me.

I didn't like the spinoff at all boring as hell. It's soap opera ish for me.
