From what I remember, they cut away to commercials before I could fully consider it a hug. I agree that Sam was leaning into Dean, but I don't believe I would label it a full-hug.

That's why there were so many thrilled-people in fandom when we finally got a fully-developed hug in AHBL2.

(Seriously, gotta love a fandom where we can have debates about full-hugs vs. semi-hugs )

But hey, when I get up to Home with my episode rewatch, I'll be rewatching it quite carefully. (Up through Skin now.......... )

Agreed that the shot was very short, but you can definitelly see that Dean is holding on quite strongly and Sam is leaning in.

In my book that constitutes as a HUG hug.

Hey everyone I loved this episode! Sam showed so much emotion when he was tryiong to explain to Dean what was going on & how he couldn't keep relieving the days he died. It almost made me cry!

Oh, don't get me wrong. Semi-hug or not, I still loved it. I love any sort of emotional brother moment, verbal or physical. (Love the way that Dean has his hand on Sam's back in Simon Says, for instance - such a quick little gesture to show support.)

But what I would consider a full hug, like in this ep? Made me thrilled.

Well, let's see: Dean hugs Sam when Sam comes back from the dead (and Sam doesn't really understand why). Sam hugs Dean in this ep, when he goes back in time and Dean's not dead (and Dean really doesn't understand why). For them both to hug the other, at the same time? Yeah, it would have to be something major.........
