Owain Yeoman/Steven Daedalus Appreciation

The young British actor, who appeared with Brad Pitt in Troy, will get a second shot at TV fame after a first failed attempt on The WB's disastrous Commando Nanny. In Commando Nanny Owain landed the lead title role after the original star, Philip Winchester, was forced to drop out due to an injury. But soon star Gerald McRaney (Major Dad) faced health issues forcing production to come to a halt. The WB was forced to cancel the show before the first episode aired.

Let's hope this talented young man will have better luck with the new FOX comedy Kitchen Confidential.

I love his character in this show. From what i gathered from the Pilot Episode, he is your token British guy :). And one of his scenes made me easily laugh the hardest, but i won't mention it until you've all scene the Pilot.

Groovy_Chick 07-27-2005 12:06 PM

Is he Welsh? Im guessing he must be with a name like Owain.

ReachOut 07-27-2005 02:47 PM

From his accent, he sounded like your typical cockney Englishman. :)

Cursed 07-27-2005 05:38 PM

Yup, he's Welsh.

It's mentioned in this article where he talks about his roles in Troy and "Commando Nanny."

Groovy_Chick 07-28-2005 05:03 AM

ahhh bless his little Welsh socks! He is one to keep your eye on I reckon.

Thanks for the article.

Ehh, I totally don't remember this dude from Troy, but thanks Cursed for the pictures and the article. He is indeed a cutie.

I can't remember him in Troy either. I need a picture or something from the movie.

thegreenlight 08-24-2005 05:44 PM

I looked quite a bit for pics of him from Troy and couldn't find any. :( His character's name was "Lysander". I still don't know who he is though..

jsrocks 08-24-2005 09:15 PM

I'd have to see that movie again to know. All I remember was Orlando Bloom, Eric Bana, and Brad Pitt.

ReachOut 08-26-2005 05:20 AM

Hmm, i can't remember him either, but i have the movie on Dvd, so i'm gonna try and find him. :)

I love the whole cast but Owain was the best part of the show tonight...he was priceless. Nothing fazes his character.

He's perfect for this role.

ReachOut 09-20-2005 02:20 AM

I loved it when he just started stealing salt shakers as soon as he entered the resteraunt.

Cress 09-21-2005 09:30 AM

Yeah, he was really funny.

He's so cute. I love this guy.

"It like where food and money come to have sex!" Hee :)

The whole finger thing had me rolling, after it freaked me out for a bit.
Steven: Look at this veal. It's beautiful. If I were a veal, I'd be making love to this veal right now.
Jack: Please tell me you didn't put it down your pants.
Steven: What if I did?

I just thought that was hilarious, and he kept it up the whole episode too. :) Cute.

thegreenlight 09-23-2005 07:31 PM

The finger thing was funny but I was a little weirded out by the whole veal-down-his-pants thing. :look:

 I think he is one of my favourites in the show, the look on his face when Jack is telling him to not steal things is priceless, then when he is mucking about in the kitchen and ends up having the top of his finger sliced off.

I think he has one of those faces that is suited to comedy basically, plus always nice to see a Brit in US shows :D.

ReachOut 09-26-2005 10:04 AM

Yeah, it sure is. :)

ReachOut 09-29-2005 02:37 PM

You know, with such an incredible cast, i didn't expect this. But after watching Episode 2, Steven has become my funniest character. His comic timing is just magnificent and works so well off Nick and Bradley.

thegreenlight 09-29-2005 04:08 PM

I really like Steven also. Jack is still my favourite character but Steven is pretty hilarious too. :D
