I was just wondering why everyone except me thinks that the only instrument worthy of listening to and playing is the electric guitar. I think I'm the only person on the face of the earth that hates guitar music. I think the guitar is harsh and irritating. I can't even tell when someone is playing a chord, because it just sounds like noise to me, and it only makes the one sound. Keyboards can make a infinite number of different sounds, and can do tons of cool effects and stuff.

I like synth bands, movie scores, classical, etc. Since no one else but me likes that kind of stuff, I have no one to discuss and listen to music with. I'm a keyboard player and write music, but there's no one I can play my stuff to since everyone hates my instrument. Being a musician doen't even get me dates because girls only like guitar players.

I've played the piano for 11 or 12 years now. And I remember there being a thread a little while back about people playing piano. There were quite a few people from here. I really don't like the technique aspect, I just like to play different songs.

Electric guitars, sure. But what about acoustic? If the person knows what they're doing, an acoustic guitar can make the most beautiful, graceful sound in the world.

I personally like ALL instruments. Sticking to one instrument only would sound pretty boring to me. My personal favorites, though, are the violin and drums. Kinda funny, huh?

Keyboards are neat, though, and you're right - they can make a ton of different sounds. But sometimes keyboards seem like a cop-out. My parents are both musicians and it seems to me that playing Hendrix-style guitar requires a little more technique and precision and whatnot than pressing keys. (That's not to say I don't respect the hell out of pianists, though!)

I prefer accoustic guitar.

I love piano too though. I could listen to a good piano solo allll day. My friend wrote a song on the piano and its the most beautiful thing.
