Their songs? Are love. I've got a few that someone sent me, to tide me over til I can go buy the albums (they're out here in Canada, not sure about the States.)
Anyways, Stars I guess would be classified as indie pop? Similar to Metric, maybe - they're on the same label as Broken Social Scene so there's a definite connection there.
They were formed either in NY or Toronto, I think, and are now based in Montreal - which is how I heard of them, and I'm beating myself up for not finding out about them earlier, since I think they had a concert here very recently. *thwacks forehead*
Their website is starsdeluxe.net but it seems to be down now At least for me. I've been searching for lyrics, but they're hard to find.

Seriously, these songs are gorgeous. Does anyone else listen to them and know of any online groups for them? I haven't checked out any LJ communities yet but if anyone knows anything... post!

Stars are one of my favourite bands EVER. If not my favourite actually. I think anyone would fall in love with this band if they knew them. They're just so good, and I think every music fan should have the album Heart in their collection.

I've been a fan for like 2 years now, and I keep falling more and more in love with them. My friends know how obsessed I am with this band so whenever someone brings them up and/or asks questions about them, they say, "Oh you should just ask Eda.. she's obsessed"

Oh oh and.. have you heard about Memphis' side project? It's the lead singer's side project. His album came out this year (recently actually), and I'm so in love with that too. It's good. And I think you'd like it.

Ahhh, I'm so glad someone replied. I don't have any of the albums yet - I'm planning to go out and buy either "Heart" or "Set Yourself On Fire" today. Seriously, I have 4 songs of their and they're rapidly becoming my favourite band (I have Heart, Elevator Love Letter, Ageless Beauty, and Death to Death.)
"Heart" seems like the kind of album I would love. So perfect.
Thanks so much for the lyrics link! and no, I haven't heard about the side project but I definitely will check it out. Artists' side projects tend to be pretty interesting [like the Postal Service ]
and I like the babbling - more babbling = more Stars info, so it's alll good.
