Simple Plan Fans Unite! Hi all  I did a search but couldn't find a Simple Plan thread but are there any other Simple Plan fans out there? Here's a pic of the boys: (L-R)Jeff Stinco, David Desrosiers, Pierre Bouvier, Sebastien Lefebvre, Chuck Comeau Biography courtisy of LAUNCH This Montreal-based punk-pop five-piece came together in the mid-'90s, when singer Pierre Bouvier and drummer Chuck Comeau founded rowdy punk outfit Reset at the age of 13. Reset released a highly lauded debut in 1997, gained moderate success in Canada, and toured the country with bands like MxPx, Face To Face, and Ten Foot Pole, but soon Bouvier and drummer Chuck Comeau eft the band to go back to school. Two years later, however, Comeau put his studies on hold to start making music again with his high school friends, guitarists Jeff Stinco and Sebastien Lefebvre. Bouvier and Comeau reunited at a Sugar Ray show in late 1999, and it wasn't long before Bouvier and another former Reset member, bassist David Desrosiers, joined the newly named band, Simple Plan. The group played the annual Vans Warped Tour in 2001 as well as Toronto's Snow Jam before heading back into the studio in 2002 to make their Lava Records debut, No Pads, No Helmets...Just Balls, produced by Arnold Lanni (Our Lady Peace, Finger Eleven). The album delivered 12 spunky tracks about adolescent issues, like the teen angst-ridden "I'm Just A Kid," the MTV TRL favorite "I'd Do Anything" (with Blink 182's Mark Hoppus on backing vocals), and "You Don't Mean Anything" (with added vocals by Joel Madden of Good Charlotte). After the debut release, Simple Plan rocked five continents and played more than 300 shows within a year's time, even selling out their first-ever tour of Japan. The band picked up a load of fans, appeared on MTV's TRL, and went gold in their home country of Canada as well as Japan. With the release of their comically titled yet somewhat more mature follow-up effort , Still Not Getting Any..., their success showed no signs of letting up, as the album's first single, "Welcome To My Life," was an out-of-the-box smash. Simple Plan are all about sticking to their simple agenda of working hard, playing hard, and connecting with the fans who are their very own peers. And so far, that "simple plan" is working out quite well. |
I enjoyed some of the stuff off of their last CD and I like the new song as well. I should say I like their sound...the vocals and music...the lyrics are total bs......but that's just MO. I just can't by the whole....welcome to my poor pathetic life issues any longer. |
I think they're very tounge-in-cheek type kinda lyrics. Like still pretty immature even though they're all in their 20's  |
I'm a massive fan :D |
Yay! :yay: Good to know there's someone else out here on FF who is! I'm hanging out for their new album...it comes out here in Aus on Nov 8th, and there's a special CD/DVD version of it...so I think I'll spend a little extra to get that :D |
It comes out in the US on Tuesday. It also has the DVD with it. No extra charge either which is cool. I have a question...the Acoustic version of Perfect, is it live or studio? |
Um in Australia Sanity has the track listing for the standard version as: Track Listing: 1. Shut Up 2. Welcome To My Life 3. Perfect World 4. Thank You 5. Me Against The World 6. Crazy 7. Jump 8. Everytime 9. Promise 10. One 11. Untitled 12. Perfect (Live) (Dew Burning Van) 13. Making Of The Album Footage [Video] And for the CD/DVD set as: Track Listing: Disk 1 1. Shut Up 2. Welcome To My Life 3. Perfect World 4. Thank You 5. Me Against The World 6. Crazy 7. Jump 8. Everytime 9. Promise 10. One 11. Untitled 12. Perfect (Live) (Dew Burning Van) Disk 2 1. Shut Up [Dvd] 2. Welcome To My Life [Dvd] 3. Perfect World [Dvd] 4. Thank You [Dvd] 5. Me Against The World [Dvd] 6. Crazy [Dvd] 7. Jump [Dvd] 8. Everytime [Dvd] 9. Promise [Dvd] 10. One [Dvd] 11. Untitled [Dvd] So according to those, it's live? I just noticed though, does the CD/DVD version not have the Making of The Album footage as it's not listed? Or have they just forgot to put it on? Becuase wouldn't it make sense for it to be on the special edition one as well? |
Simple Plan always makes me happy. Their songs are really cute. And I can relate to most of them. And how much do I just want to hug David to death? |

I missed it that week, I just didn't have the time to sit and listen to it at my comp :( Can't wait for it to come out here in Aus either...next Monday (8th) I believe is the release date :) Speaking of Sessions @ AOL...has anyone seen these? Sessions @ AOL The "On the Spot" things are so funny, Chuck looks like a little kid sitting on his chair with his legs crossed. My question though is where was David and Seb? |
