I like girl bands too! I love it because it proves girls can be just as good and/or better than guys when it comes to music.

i really can't see why there should be a difference between girls and boys in teh music industry..
that's really sad 'cause there's so many "girlbands" that can't get a record deal because the company only gives 2 or 3 "girlbands" a record deal which means that many really good bands will never be discovered..

My best friend got me into Riot Grrl music. I hadn't listened to any in a while, but I keep seeing L7 and Babes in Toyland videos on The Alternative on VH1 Classic lately.

I went through a phase a few years ago where all I wanted to listen to was 'girl-bands'.

I really need to start listening to more of these bands again. I'm going to put it on my 'to-do' list.

Hey guys!
I really like girs bands too especially those kick ass riot girls.
But the thing with the "girls bands" is that the industry don't really take them seriously.
I'm really glad we have the classic girls bands like L7 and Hole cuz the new "girls bands" are not that good.
I´m really into a canadian political pop punk band lately it's called The Brat Attack and it has a girl on the vocals. they're great.

I was never so much into girl bands as I was Sarah McLachlan and Jewel, Lilth Fair people. I've been wanting to hear Bikini Kill and some others though, I love what their messages are.

Kathleen Hanna is the ultimate coolest Riot Grrl today. I adore everything she does, from Bikini Kill to Le Tigre.
I got really into Kittie about three years ago, but I get bored really easily.
I've never heard anything by L7, but popular consensus says they're good.

Eh, Kittie only made one good album IMHO, (Spit, go buy it, it's awesome), but then I haven't heard any of their latest release yet.

L7 kick ass. It's true. And I know of the Slits' work, but i'm sorry to say I haven't actually heard it. Cut is a landmark album, though, from what feedback I've heard. Along with the Runaways, they pretty much jump-started the genre, or even the idea that girls could form a hard rock band. So I'm grateful.
