Ah yes, the Indie bands. Hmmm...

You mean, besides The Killers?

I'd say Interpol and the Kaiser Chiefs. I love them. And Louis XIV. They're such a riot! Franz Ferdinand is fairly represented by MTV...hmmm...British Sea Power is so unique! I love The Stills too...Hot Hot Heat is awesome too, though they get good air time on MTV2. Muse is just amazing as well!

Our Lady Peace
Moist
Matthew Good (or Matthew Good Band..the former is the lead singer going solo)

Those three are big in Canada but get very little recognition in the US.

Limblifter
Hot Hot Heat (but from what I hear, they're pretty big in the States)
The Dears
Matt Mays & El Torpedo

I just came to recommend those two. Trust me, you can't go wrong with either one of them (but Matt Good is the best and rules freaking all).

I recommend Tool. They are my all time favorite band and pretty much the only band I even care to listen too.

They have some incredible videos that MTV will rarely ever play. For the whole time I have been a fan, MTV has only aired one of the videos a couple times, and usually really late at night.

Maynard James Keenan, lead singer, is a genius. His lyrics are incredible.

Perfect Circle and Nine Inch Nails are really good bands too.
