Yes, and perky is something you just don't do if you want to keep on living in the same world as me [img]smilies/wink.gif[/img]. Yeah, Europe is cut to pieces when it comes to the different MTVEs. I'd have thought you'd have some sort of Southern Eastern MTVE thing going on though. I mean there was that World Wide Chart Show going on about half a year or so ago that showed videos from Israel top 5 ..

Yeah, that'd make sense. Though I do have faint recollection of hearing that pretty much all the shows are taped in the London studios, no matter what MTV they're for. Would make sense considering otherwise they'd need studios in tons of different places, I guess. Who knows.

I was dead worried about it and mad as hell when the broadcast ended before the match as they only had a three hour timeslot for it, but got the result from a website and slept quite happily after that [img]smilies/biggrin.gif[/img].

I know how that feels like, not seeing any music from your country on MTV. We had the same thing until a few years ago. Then there was Darude with his damn Sandstorm and Bomfunk MCs and their crap and I honestly don't know how people can have such bad thaste that when some Finnish artists finally make the break, they're those two. At least it got better with HIM doing alright (granted they'd done that and more in Germany before, but sorry, Germany doesn't count ) and now The Rasmus too.

Okay, this is almost completely OT again, but hey at least it's about music . S posted the news that they've picked the official song for EURO 2004at the football thread - they decided to go for Nelly Furtado's Forca - and I was wondering do you have any opinion (even though you don't care much for the sport)?

S dearest didn't seem thrilled, but I was actually surprised about how pleasantly surprised I was when I read the news. I'm still not her biggest fan, but the second album is better than the first (well, never heard more than the singles from the first actually, but they were bad enough.. with the second I actually wanted to hear the whole thing) and the words just seem perfect for it (the competition, the sport). Not to mention the fact that she's part Portugese and all, so hearing that there'll be versions in both languages wasn't a bad thing.

Well, all that makes me pretty happy about the choice, but it's probably that the Korea/Japan WC official song just plain sucked so much that I'm just damn glad they didn't pick anything as bad as Boom [img]smilies/lol.gif[/img] (any song that has more words like boom or oo/yeh/yi/whatever than proper words should never have been written [img]smilies/wink.gif[/img])

Just woke up and yeah, it does seem to pay to be a non-practising Evangelist Lutheran on some days *g* *passes Kinder eggs around*. Actually, I only got four as we're cheap bastards [img]smilies/biggrin.gif[/img]. The sell the same kinda chocolate as the Kinder eggs have in these small chocolate bars that are actually even slightly bigger and they're a lot cheaper *g*.

Yeah, they're a bit cheesy, but you're right, these kinda songs are always a bit like that. I kinda liked some of those singles from the first album too, but they got so overplayed here that the aftertaste wasn't all that good. I think I like this second so much mroe because it just feels like it has an even more of an international feel to it - and not just because she sings bits in Portugese *g*

But I do agree her voice is one of those that can irritate one pretty easily. But as it's nowhere near the levels of irritation Nylon Beat causes - it doesn't affect me much [img]smilies/biggrin.gif[/img] (Nylon Beat was this Finnish girl duo that sang both Finnish and English pop songs.. both singers had these awful nasal voices *shudder*)

Yeah, both the scowley one and the snooker hobbit are out [img]smilies/frown.gif[/img]. At least the Draco lookalike is still in - though I have to say he's become much more of a Becks lookalike [img]smilies/eek.gif[/img] [img]smilies/lol.gif[/img]. At least he's cleaned up and the half ponytail thing is gone - no haircut, but I'm grateful it's a proper ponytail now. Baby steps *G*

He's up against an old fart, who's Mikko's favourite, in the final today.. I like White too a fair bit so I won't be too sad if Hunter doesn't win. Hunter has been playing so damn well that he does deserve to win though..

You know the ugly Placebo hoodie that's supposed to replace the wings one? Well, the guy asked me if I wanted a refund or the ugly one as a replacement, and I told him I want the ugly one for a replacement. He said okay, and about a week later I find that a refund's on my Visa. What does that mean? I emailed him asking if he's sent out my hoodie but so far no reply. I hope he sent it out and I get both hoodie and money. If he hasn't, then I'm grr because the refund hit an exchange bump and I got back less than what I'd spent in NZ$.

Moral of story: Try not to buy any merch from the official site. Hugely expensive + incompetent staff. [img]smilies/rolleyes.gif[/img]
