No, it's perfectly fine to start a thread! In fact, I have a soft spot for them - I don't like all their songs (and I don't have that many of their stuff to begin with) but the ones I like, I really like. My favourites are 'Time Is Running Out', 'Supermassive Black Hole', 'Hysteria'... and 'Plug In Baby' is cool in a different way

Which album is that? And what songs do you recommend?

I love some of the old stuff of Muse. Their album Absolution is a really nice piece as well, I love how they mix instruments, and I have a huge crush on "Falling away with you". It always gives me shivers. However, I've been so disappointed by their latest album I thought the songs were too alike for my tastes... Does anyone else feel like that? I can't help thinking that it has to do with the fact that they had found their public, Absolution being such a huge success... I don't know, just my opinion...

I'm actually going to one of their concerts! They'll be at a music festival that I'm going to, mainly because Frank Black and Razorlight will be there, and Muse is just a plus. But I'm very very curious to see how it's going to be. More than once, I've changed my opinion on a band after a concert. Maybe that's what will happen? Maybe it will make me like their new album, who knows?

Congratulations Pauline! I had the chance to go to a Muse concert earlier this year, but I didn't because it was so expensive. They've got a reputation for having good concerts though, so have fun

Black Holes and Revelations was a disappointment? To be honest with you, most Muse songs sound the same to me, not just the ones in the latest album

After posting here, I felt like listenning to Absolution again, I've got it on on my computer at the moment. It had been a while, and it's still what I thought, they were working more on the instruments back then. The melody itself don't change much, but they were really making efforts on that side: you have one song with just a soft acoustic guitar, then, one with really harsh guitar, then one with a piano and cords... Their music is really interesting on that side. But Black Holes and Revelations? Always the same thing IMO... (ok, maybe I didn't listen to it in the best of conditions, I was in my room at school, trying to cover the stupid music of the room next to mine... )

Thanks! I have lots of concerts planned for the summer (did I mention I love summer for its festivals? ) and it's definitely not the one I'm more excited about, but still! What's fun is that I'm going with some friends who are big Muse fans, they're all so excited about it, and me? I keep saying "heyyyy don't forget Frank Black!!" and they all say "oh... yeah..."

Yeah, summer is the greatest time for gigs Trust me, Muse are an amazing band to see live! Your perspective on them will probably completely change! They have won like five awards for best live acts I hope you have a great time! I'm going to see them for a second time in 14 days at Wembley stadium. Not many of my friends like them but i still managed to get them to come The first time i saw them they were amazing

okay, I'll check them out. What do you guys think of 'Butterflies and Hurricanes' though? It's not my favourite but the way it changes from harsh guitar to piano and back again is cool.

'Hysteria' is one of my favorites. I also quite like 'Map of the Problematique', 'Sing for Absolution', 'Apocaplyse Please', 'The Small Print', 'Fury', 'Unintended', and 'Stockholm Syndrome'.
