Nick Drake #1: A Skin Too Few

Nick Drake is my favorite singer. Some would say he passed away too soon, but he left such a strong mark, powerful songs, a genious ahead of his time, of anytime actually. I can listen to his mysterious, sensitive lyrics in any mood, it makes me relax and concetrate. I thought the documentary A Skin Too Few represented him and his life beautifully.

Any fans?

Hey!

Nick Drake was indeed a brilliant artist. I have both Bryter Layter and Pink Moon and they are both incredible albums. His legacy is huge and there are so many singer-songwriters nowadays that have been influenced directly or indirectly by Nick Drake.

I haven't seen this documentary. Thanks for the tip, though, I'll look for it.

Hi!

A lot of artists nowadays were inspired by Nick Drake. And his songs occasionally appear in movies soundtracks. The other day I watched Will Smith's movie Seven Pounds, and they played One Of This Things First. It was the only good part of the movie, I really disliked it.

I downloaded A Skin Too Few from a torrent file, but it's on You Tube. I'm don't know if it's the whole film.

Have you heard of the new cd/dvd tribute? Eddie Vedder, Dave Grohl, Norah Jones and others will sing and it will feature a unreleased video filmed by Heath Ledger, who was a fan.

Yeah, "One Of This Things First" is also in the soundtrack of Garden State, a film with Natalie Portman. Cool film. Amazing soundtrack.

Oh, I'll look for A Skin Too Few on torrent too, then.

No, I haven't heard of that, but, wow, it seems like really good material! Do they know when it will be released?
