I loved pre-solo Rob MBT but I'm skeptical of their comeback bid... Rob undoubtedly is MBT's focal point and if I was unmoved by his solo stint and how he presented himself, it'll be hard to connect to him again even in the MBT setting... Not saying I'm not a fan anymore, who knows the spark may be back for me on the next record

Their first album has got to be one of my favorite albums ever. It's just, wow.

Lyrically, I think it's the best MBT record. As far as showcasing the entire band's capabilities (especially Kyle's playing), I think MTYTYA is the more accomplished record

Maybe but I just have so many memories with the first album, that's why it's my favorite.

I've noticed that most MBT fans consider the debut as their best. What's weird with me is while I feel what I feel for YOSLY and MTYTYA as expressed in my previous post, I feel most connected to Mad Season lol! I guess that means the 2nd one is my fave...

I like Matchbox Twenty, and I hated Rob Thomas solo. He's got a great voice though. He didn't need to shake his butt in his video. That was a peeve of mine.

Anyway. My favourite song is 'Back 2 Good', although 'Push' is really good too (and the acoustic is fantastic). Somehow I find their earlier stuff better. I have one of the albums though. I think it's Mad Season. I can't remember. The one with 'Last Beautiful Girl' and 'Black And White People'.

Yeah, it was as if he had degraded himself to using sex (of sorts) to sell his music, and I hated it. The song itself isn't bad, the video just spoilt it.

Thanks. I feel like getting You Or Someone Like You, is it a good album to get? Or is More Than You Think You Are better?

I'm not opposed to change and I was actually looking forward to more experimentation away from MBT (what's the point of going solo if it's gonna sound like your band anyway?). The thing is the 3 singles I heard were more similar to MBT than they are different. Ok, LNM is a good deal different but on the whole is pretty average. This is How a Heart Breaks pales in comparison to all the harder rocking MTYTYA tracks (I'd take Feel and Cold over that track any day). And by the time Ever the Same came out, I couldn't be bothered for what's essentially a "sensitive Rob throwback". It's one thing for me to be displeased by what I feel is his lack of progression but my main objection to "the solo Rob era" is the way he projected himself. I hate to say "sellout" but yeah... And the suckiest part about this is it's making me question what more is in store for one of my fave bands and if they even should conside coming back at all

They're all excellent records so you won't lose out regardless of the order by which you get them. But I think getting YOSLY first is a good way to follow the band's progression from the beginning

hahahah have you guys seen rob on stage he is constantly shaking his booty - before his solo career

i thought he was great and rob is a fantastic artist and preformer.

i really cant wait for them to bring out a new album but i dont think they have started recording it thought they have all been doing there own thing.

i really didnt find anything wrong with what rob did with his solo career - i just think people tried to compare him to MB20 when it was a completely serperate venture
