The title is a play on words, and refers to John's new talk show, which happens to be called John Mayer Has A TV Show.

Great start to the thread! I can't wait to see this show about him, and also his performance on the AMA's. Although from the pics it looks like the weird girl who shouldn't be in the "Daughter" video is gonna be in the background.

So I watched last night, only to see one of the worst AMA in the past few years. It was overloaded with too many performances and there was technical issues through out, including the begining of "Daughters". John did well, but it was a very typical performance, nothing new brought to the song. I wanted to be assumed by the drunken guests, but instead I was just sadened, especially with Anna Nicole. And Kimmel's jokes were mostly flat, or flat-out offensive.

Glad to see a new thread already!... We are moving so fast we need that board already.

Likewise, on both accounts. Yeah, I noticed the video girl popped up in the background. It irritates me when artist's videos play during a performance. John probably didn't have a say in the matter, but even so... The less we see of her, the better!

You're most welcome for the thread and pics. I couldn't agree with you more on the birthday present idea. John in nothing - now that's a gift from the heart. I'd love whoever gave me that forever (preferably, John himself! ). My friend doesn't like John at all - can you believe it?! I keep telling her she's mad. But then, at least there's more John for us!

I was hoping the confusion would entice a few people in here. I'm so looking forward to checking it out 'cause I think it sounds like loads of fun too. I'm especially hanging out for the bear footage.

Indeed! I hope John fares better in the November polls. I haven't checked up on them in a few days, and I'm yet to PM those voting reminders out to everyone. Must remember to do that tomorrow.

Sorry to hear you weren't impressed with the AMAs, Delise. I've noticed the quality of music awards is declining aswell. They try too hard to be amusing, and it can get overpowering. I tend to tape them and fast forward through to the performances I'm interested in. I guess I'm still excited to see John perform again, even if it is a more mediocre performance.

I guess what bothered me most about the performance was how fried John looked. He seemed really warn out, though I admit I was more focused on the fact that his audio was partly cut out in the begining.... later in the show, Sheryl Crow gave John and Alicia Keys shout outs in her acceptance speech. She said how it was great to see fresh, young talent and credited both.

ETA: I never tape and fast foward. I'm weird with Award shows, because awards like these are only shown once, and I feel I have to watch it as a whole and on that night. I'm a slave to the event. I guess that's why I'm a media/tv junkie. lol

Hey! I'm a big John Mayer fan I have both his albums. The first was a birthday present, and my sister got the second one. I didn't catch the AMAs, but he looks good there sad that the AMAs were so bad, I heard Anna Nicole was like dazed and disoriented in the show. That's...just sad.

I thought he looked (and seemed) quite refreshed during the interview beforehand, and during the performance too. The audio probs cut out some of the best lyrics. I loved how he improvd "stranded" for "standing". It's great to hear that Sheryl and Alicia credited him.

I guess I can understand the logic in being a slave to the event. I'm like that with a lot of live TV shows that get repeated. I prefer to watch them first time around, 'cause then it gets to the point where it's old, and you run the risk of getting spoiled.

I haven't yet seen the Awards in full, but I saw a clip of Anna Nicole's mishap on the news. She looked more spaced out than the girl in the "Daughters" clip!
