James Morrison Appreciation Thread #1
Welcome to the 1st James Morrison Appreciation Thread  Biography James Morrison (born James Morrison Catchpole in 1984) is a singer/songwriter from Rugby, Warwickshire, England. He says that his musical influences include Al Green, Otis Redding, Cat Stevens and the Kinks. At 13 Morrison began to learn guitar when his uncle showed him how to play a blues riff. He started busking when he lived at Porth near Newquay, in Cornwall. After years of playing other musicians' songs, he eventually started to write his own. Polydor Productions took charge and signed him. He became the supporting artist for Corinne Bailey Rae on her tour supporting her debut album. In 2006 he debuted with his single You Give Me Something which became a hit single around Europe and Japan. It reached the #2 spot in Holland and the #5 spot in the UK. And James proves that he isn't a one-hit-wonder - his debut album Undiscovered went straight to #1 in the UK and has sold more than 500,000 copies world wide. The second single released from the album is "Wonderful World," which has already been a top 10 hit in the UK reaching the #8 spot.  I love, love, love James Morrison!! his music is just the greatest! And I just never get enough of his awesome voice he totally deserves to have his own board on here! |

I'm so happy to see a James Morrison thread!  I didn't even realize this was here till just now. I got his album the week it came out and loved it the first time I listened to it. He's an amazing singer!And I just voted for a board  __________________

I can not stop listening to that album. It's so hard to choose but my favorites songs are between This Boy and You Give Me Something.  I checked the poll too, and now there are 12 votes. Now where are all the fans at. __________________

It's sad we have to start begging.
That's a great song. Like the letter, most of his songs are about break ups or losing someone. Yet he can put it into such a beautiful melody, and you often forget it's about heartbreak.__________________
