Sorry for the terrible pun, but anyone else an Idina Menzel fan? You may know her as Maureen from OBC Rent and movie version, the original Elphaba from Wicked (which she won a Tony for), or as the lovely wife of the equally lovely Taye Diggs.

She also has two CDs and it pretty much amazing. Right now she's reprising her role as Elphaba in London.

If anyone doesn't know who she is, but is curious-- let me know and I'd love to share some songs to spread the Idina love

Idina is amazing. She's one of my favorites on Broadway (well, currently West End, but you know what I mean). And she's so beautiful (no pun intended).

I want to go to London SO bad. Of course that's not going to happen, but from what I've heard from people she's actually gotten better-- which is incredible considering how good she was to start with.

More people really need to know Idina. I remember one of my friends on LJ kept talking about her and I just disregarded it since I didn't know who she was, but then I saw Rent and became obsessed.

I think I might upload a little Best of Idina later.

I love Idina, I think she's incredible. Apparently the West End production of Wicked sold out for Idina's run weeks/months ago. That's very impressive.

Taye and Idina are my favorite couple. I'm a little too in love with them together.

Word to that! I was thinking about starting a thread for him too over at Male Celebrities. He's just so perfect looking and his voice... wow.

Did you see Idina in "Ask the Dust"? She's SUCH an amazing actress!

Ah, I'm guilty of not listening to any of her solo stuff but right now I'm so broke I'll have to wait anyway. I did order the Wicked OBCR because it was like $13 on Amazon. I can't wait to listen to it from start to finish.

She was phenomenal in that movie. I thought the movie itself was kind of boring, but she blew me away. Definitely the best in the movie. I can't wait to see her in Enchanted, even though it doesn't come out for another year.

The Wicked OBCR is great. Her songs are all my favorites, Defying Gravity, No Good Deed, The Wizard and I. That and Rent are my favorite musicals and its not coincidence that she's in them both.

I can upload some more of her solo songs. Her concerts are the best. Her solo CDs are really good, but they're just different from what you might imagine. There's a lot of computer effect type of things, which took me a little while to get used to, but they're all really fun and she has some killer ballads. Let me know if you want some more

Lauren, the second to last picture that you posted--from the Wicked rehearsals--is my favorite Idina picture.

So many times my friends tell me about artists that they like, and I don't pay attention b/c I'm obsessed with something else at the time. And then later I catch on! A friend got me into Wicked after I saw Idina on David Letterman's show.

Her solo CDs are wonderful, so I hope fans get the chance to listen to them. And I agree about her concerts. Have you heard her sing I'll Cover You from Rent? I love her version just as much as the one from the show!
