| Garbage Appreciation Thread #1 My favorite band is Garbage. Their music is amazing to me. When I first heard them I thought they were so good I cried. Yeah, cried. That's when you know that's a really good band. I love every aspect of their music. I was introduced to their music by my ex-best friend, oddly. I heard them and was mezmorized and knew they would be my favorite band. I love the dark mood of the first album, the electonric air of the second, the bouncyness of the third, and the edgy feel to the fourth. I love them. LoveLoveLove. | Well, she was my best friend at the time, when she had me listen to them. Those are good songs but there's ones I think are even better. Anyone want recommendations on which Garbage songs to listen to, let me know. Garbage rocks!!!  | |||

| Garbage has been my favorite band since 1999. Strangely, my best friend introduced them to me too. She bought Version 2.0 and brought it to my house while she was staying there over the summer. As soon as I heard the opening line of the first song, "Temptation Waits", I knew that I was about to discover a whole other kind of music. Garbage is responsible for my love of music. My favorite era of theirs is 95-98.....their first two releases - self titled and Version 2.0. Try as I might, I'm not able to warm up to their last two releases. There are songs I like on both Beautiful Garbage and Bleed For Me, but the albums as a whole don't come close to the sounds of their first two. I think why I feel that way is that Bleed Like Me seems too garage rock, and not enough electronic. Beautiful Garbage seems too pop electronic. Their self titled and Version 2.0 lie in between those and I think that's where their best sound is, musically and vocally. Favorite songs - Temptation Waits, Deadwood, Special, The Trick is to Keep Breathing, I Think I'm Paranoid, #1 Crush, Only Happy When it Rains, Stroke of Luck, Vow, My Lover's Box, Soldier Through This, Afterglow, 13X Forever...... Off their newer releases - Shut Your Mouth, Nobody Loves You, Cup of Coffee, It's All Over But the Crying, Metal Heart. __________________ The Vampire Diaries. Supernatural. Watchmen. | Yeah I totally agree. Those are all great songs too. I love No.1 Crush too. I saw Garbage live once (yes, alas, only once. That was the only time they came to Utah and I usually don't have time to travel to see them but I think I'm gonna just do it next time they tour) and they were amazing. I loved it so much I cried. Ahh..wonderful memories. | |||

My teacher told us he would rather we didn't pick a celebrity of any sort (sports player, musician, actor/actress), but I told him I wanted to do my paper on Shirley Manson and finally convinced him to let me. | Big hellos from a huge Garbage fan. I'm happy that there's a thread for this amazing band. I love their work. Have gone to all their gigs here, that's only three times but totally worthy.
