one of my buddies use to work at a Tower records store. he said his manager would intentionally damage a packaged CD, rip the disc right in his office and upload it to the net within a matter of minutes. sometimes, they might get shipments 2 or 3 weeks in advance of official release. same thing with movies and games.

it really is. you have to keep a real tight circle around your stuff. that's hard to do when a lot of people are involved. from engineers on down the line, anything can get out. it was that way long before file sharing as we know it today ever existed. I know a couple of private torrent sites that are invitation only and I'm sure there's quite a few more. that's where most of the initial sharing occurs. even if you can get in, it's not likely you'll be around very long unless you have a super fast connection and seedbox. most of the top seeder's ratios are so high, there's virtually no chance to get going at all.

I've read some comments that the new one is pretty darn good. I haven't listened to any of it yet besides the ones from Elan.

^^ I'm just glad to be going anywhere. it's been too long for me. I haven't had many chances to see live music lately. last band I saw was The Aristocrats. it should be fun but they still haven't announced any times yet for Beale Street festival yet. if they stick to recent set lists, I guess most of the show will be from their last two. I never saw them before so it's all good. being outside and not a headliner, I don't expect much theater but Maria and Co. might rule the day anyway.

I've checked out a lot of Lindsey's stuff. that should be entertaining. I love strings....violins and cellos are definitely cool.
