Album teaser for Savn, Carmen Elise Espenæs's new band (she's Liv Kristine's sister and has her own band Midnattsol who do some nice folk-metal

). Apparently members of Sins of Thy Beloved are in it, and it must be (at least) their violinist

those luscious violins

This is pretty decent on first listen. But nothing that grabs my attention right away.

Long time collaborator Stephan Heilemann once again created some stunning artwork to accompany the ideas behind the lyrics. Once you'll be able to lay hands on the album artwork, you'll see that the cover is part of a bigger picture.

The band will return to the stage after almost a year of absence during which they focussed on recording the career-defining The Quantum Enigma. EPICA's first performance will be the album release show on the 30th April in the 013, Tilburg in their home country The Netherlands.

There are a lot of really good songs, but maybe I need to give it another spin.

I think what I didn't like was the super "sweet" way Simone was doing her vocals in a lot of the songs. Just rubbed me the wrong way

I know she's experimenting, but I much prefer her vocals on the last 2 albums before that.

I wonder when we're going to get a single!

My friend got to see Leaves' Eyes in Vancouver and she posted a video from the gig. She said they were surprisingly good and I don't know much about LE live, but from the video she posted, holy coooow. Liv sounds great! I'm disappointed I didn't see them now

I did get my ticket for Iced Earth/ReVamp so I am not missing out on that. I'm gearing up to pour 7 years of fangirling into a few hours
